While I was looking for more information on the CMW garbage truck and low boy equipment trailer that Wig-Wag LLC is showing will be released in March (http://wig-wag-trains-cart.com/vehicles-11/cmw-n-vehicles?Page=1&Items=12) I came across this announcement on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/classicmetalworksfans/

For anyone that does not want to follow the link to Facebook, the posting date was November 15, and it states 1974-76 Buick Estate Wagons will be produced in HO with a March release, and N scale versions will follow in the summer of 2020.

So the big question is, has GM has changed its position on licensing small vehicle models?

Design patents only last 14-15 years.

Walthers has the Buicks, along with a new tank trailer (with a 1954 Chevy?) on their website showing they are expected on 5/31/2020. https://www.walthers.com/classic-metal-works/new-product-center/just-announced/in-stock/n/page/2
I am guessing the tractor will be the 1954 Ford rather than a newly tooled Chevy.

And, Bill Giacci of CMW Holdings, Ltd. sent an email to the N Scale Vehicle Association Yahoo group stating GM changed their licensing policy in 2017. So, manufacturers now can get a license from GM to produce the smaller models, as long as the model is marketed as an "adult collectible" rather than a child's toy.

I received an email from Scott at N Scale Supply. Scott contacted CMW and confirmed the tractor with the tank trailer will be the 1954 Ford.

The N Scale Supply web page has been updated to list the 1954 Ford for both the tank trailer tractor and the garbage truck.

Walthers still has these trucks listed as Chevrolets.

Classic Metal Works has added photos of pre-production models of the IH R-190 tractors and Lowboy trailers to their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/classicmet...217504845289/3099954743371536/?type=3&theater

I have started an album for illustrative materials for N scale vehicle models scheduled for release in 2020 in the N Scale Vehicle Association's Group.io discussion group. https://groups.io/g/NScaleVehicleAssociation/album?id=240021

Sometimes it is nice to have a single site to go to see what is coming down the road. :)

However, you will need to be a member of the group and login to view the album. :(

    Vince,

You do not need to "join" Facebook to view the contents of the Classic Metal Works' Facebook page. I do not have a Facebook account. And yes, I am asked to "Log In or Create an Account" when I click on the link. However, I simply click "Not Now" and I still have the ability to view the photos and the descriptions of what the photos are depicting. Very few manufacturers "force" you to join Facebook to view the content they post there. I think you only need to join if you want to leave a comment.

I save my comments for the forums, like this one. ;)

The Classic Metal Works 1974 Buick Estate Wagons are now available. Below is a "bumper to bumper" comparison of the new station wagon with the Classic Metal Works Impala.

The luggage rack on the wagon is removable, but I haven't figured out what to replace it with that would be closer to scale. Also, the wheels on the Buick appear to be a little undersized. The wheels from the Impala look like they would be just the right size for the Buick.
