I found a couple other things that I have but had not posted on recent purchases. So here we go Kobo Custom MP36PH locomotives decorated in New Mexico Rail Runner. Now I just need some Bombardier bi-levels to go with them. And here is a commuter train a HB-E300
eBay, for a set of 4 Micro Train wooden reefers, for $25, including shipping. Got to choose from 14 cars. Decided on. A pair of Menasha reefers, Tivoli Beer and Adolphus. Hoping I might be able to get the Ball jar reefer as well.
Wow, the design sure looks different than the past years! Now get the interior LED kit and light them up.
I don’t like when these are lit up. It looks odd with the windows painted over, and the light doesn’t show through very well. On the real train when the windows are lit you can barely see the wrap, it’s like it isn’t there. This scheme isn’t my favorite. I love the 2019 train and I’m hoping Kato makes it next year. The 2017 and 2016 trains are far more festive looking than this one. The 2015 set only had 3 of the total 5 cars.
Picked these two cars up at a train show yesterday. They will go well with the two modules that I am building.
Photos of my latest, from eBay. Micro Trains Adolphus and Tivoli reefers Menasha wooden ware reefers, both numbers Just acquired another Micro Trains Burp Oh Beer reefer! On its way!
Just arrived. Micro Trains Burp-Oh Beer reefer. Just gotta decide, do I want vent hatched open, or closed!
Just snagged, for cheap, the District of Columbia car, for the MT state series! Should have by early next week, depending on when it ships out.
Arrived in the post tonight my first 3D structure in fact my only thing 3 D currently. A boathouse, boat, and a flat bottomed scow. 100_0049-1 by John Moore posted Jan 27, 2020 at 8:45 PM
I have quite a bit of outland models on my z layout. I like them, but wish I would have painted all of them before gluing down.
Model Railroad Planning 2020 featuring Mark Dance's fabulous N Scale CP layout and the latest RMC with the N scale Tenino Western.
Was lucky to find NYC green Bluford Shops caboose, BLI PRR NW2. one American Model generator load and Atlas 50' flatcar floor.
This came in, been playing around with it to determine the final layout I want (ignore the HO stuff). Worked perfectly out of the box.
It isn’t a train, but very definitely MRR related. I just got a new Pace ADS200 soldering station. All I can say about it is WOW, the difference in soldering between it and my (not too old) Hakko is like night and day. The big difference is in the handset and the way it maintains the temperature at the tip. Rather than having a heating element with the tip screwed tight up to the element, these have the heater actually in the tips, along with a thermo couple in it. The other big difference is in how you can hold it. You can hold the iron at under 2” from the tip, and it is 100% cool. @jdcolombo has referred to holding this as “soldering holding a Mont Blanc pen”.
At least she is wearing safety goggles, to prevent the strips of burnt skin from flying into her eyes!
