Ok here is my issue. I need some assistance from someone who can cut some PCB into strips for me. I mean I have 20 or so sheets of PCB to get ripped into strips.
I went to the local Harbor Freight and they did not have any of the small shears. It seems really expensive to purchase one with the shipping to cut a few boards into strips.
Can someone who has one or a good way to do this contact me. Willing to work something out with whoever can help me out.
    Thanks
    John

A good paper cutter, I have cut a lot with it.
When you cut (shear) the PC it will twist a little.
How thick is your PC?? I use .043. You
could use Clover House. Their ties are
the best out there I think.

I bought some ties at handlaidtrack and had the handlaying gurus at the SDSoNS check them out. They are perfectly acceptable. All we need now is to get them to stop cutting ties to a particular length. Traditionally, we prefer the PC ties to be long, and trim them to length on a chopper. No need for special switch ties when you can roll your own...

When I started this project I had come across a supply of 1/32 PCB. I have these sheets (20 or so) to make into tie strips.
At first I thought I would buy one of the mini shears or table saws, just seems alot to purchase for a small project. I mean once these boards are cut to strips I prob will not need anymore for a good while. Of course with the cost of the saw/shear I could order tie strips then I have all the PCB sheets.
I will have to see if I can find a machine shop that would be able to help me.
    Thanks to all

Hi Scott that would great, maybe just use my sheets to trade for some cut. I mean I know there would be less cut than that of the sheet volume but hey I am willing to work something out.

I have 23 full sheets 8 x 12" and one sheet that I have tried cutting with a Band Saw and using a large paper cutter 7 1/2" x 12"

    Thanks Scott

You could just sell the PCB on eBay and then buy the tie strips.
After many hours of cuting my own, followed by many hours of trying to scrub the itching fiberglass out of my hands, I have come to the conclusion that it is much better to buy the ready made ones. And this is coming from someone that is normally way to cheap to pay some else to do anything. Unless you can find someone local to do it for free, cutting your own just isn't worth it.
