I just wish I had taken photos of the engines and cars back in 1961 when my mom, two bothers and I rode from Seattle to St.Paul on the Western Star. All I have is a bit of the window frame on the car I was riding in. This looks to be the Glacier Park Lodge from the train while we stopped at the East Park Station. It is that lodge. Station name is "Glacier Park". Location is East Glacier, or "East Glacier Park Village as they call it these days.
GP39-2's end of an F unit era. I remember the GP39-2's arriving in service and the F's disappeared almost overnight. So sad
