The Amtrak New Acela is being moved from the Alstom plant in Hornell, New York to the FRA test loop in Pueblo. A Buffalo news station posted photos an hour ago and someone else posted a video on Instagram of the train in Pennsylvania a half-hour ago. It looks like it is moving west, but is there any way to track the movement? On Amtrak’s Instagram page, they showed a map of the train going from New York to Colorado through Chicago and Kansas City, which leads me to believe it is following the Southwest Chief route west of Chicago. I would like to go out and catch it, but does anybody know how to find what time the train will go through certain towns? The Amtrak/VIA live map does not have special movements on it. Is anybody ‘in the know’ for this train? Would this be on any radio traffic?

I suggest you ask this same question on the Amtrak Unlimited Forum, which discusses solely Amtrak related issues such as this.
