Welcome back everyone. It looks like last weekend was very busy, lets keep that trend going. Saturday: Work and since Jared is home again, no work on the layout. Sunday: Yesterday, I worked on the control panel box. The box is fully stained but before adding the polyethylene, I wanted to mount the box to the layout shadow box. I spent some time measuring and drilling holes only to find out the mounting screws I have on hand are too short. Rats! I hope to work on this some more on Sunday, but with Jared here and usually not getting up past noon, I have little hope of working on the layout this weekend. So how about you? What do you have planned? Let us know. We'll come back on Monday the 9th to see how we have done. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe and as always... High Greens!
Saturday: Get back to the E8's. Hopefully get most of the decaling done. And -- continue work on a new locomotive project. Sunday: See above -- LOL Y'all have a great weekend!! Wolf
Finish re-weathering the Bachmann Sharknoses. I have selected several ACF hoppers to weather next so I will start on them. I picked up some containers for the locomotives that no longer fit in their original boxes and I hope to protect them in the new containers.
I did get all the glazing done yesterday. Next will be internal wall reinforcement prior to assembling the walls. Will make a day trip Saturday possibly. Not train related but adjacent to old Southern main in Attalla, Alabama. Maybe I will see a shove car (caboose). I saw one last time I was there.
girl scout cookies season is over, surprise puppies are almost 8 weeks...house is starting to get back to normal...hopefully I can clear off the layout, place 1980's cars on the layout, play some new wave and switch with my Kodachrome SW1500...
Looking to be a pretty uneventful weekend so hopefully will be able to spend a good bit of time working on scenery on the layout. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Happy Friday. For this weekend, not saying what I'll complete, but I know what I'm working on: More work on the "scene" I started last weekend. Hope to get the roadway painted. Also got the double track tunnel portal and have already cut the "legs" off to lower it for automobile use. Possibly airbrush the deck bridge I have built. Hopefully some bench work, advancing a F&C Kit I've started. A Southern RR caboose that was re-purposed for the old, Class III Atlantic and Danville railway. The A&D ran through my home town growing up and I have a couple of their engines, a few cars, but not caboose. I run them on the C&O Albemarle Division. We'll see what has happened come Monday.
Working on my modified Grand Valley layout. Marking final position of buildings and laying down the roads.
Got an N scale Life-Like FA2 soaking in alcohol. I'll scrub it in the morning. While it's drying I intend to overhaul the mechanism. Waiting for some Tru-Color paint to arrive so I can paint it for SP&S. More learning about CorelDraw. This weekends lesson will be about irregular arcs or curves.
Back home from beautiful St Maarten, 'the Friendly Island". Hope to get back to the layout sometime this weekend, after the household chores are done. Got a little signage done before we left. I'll probably finish up the highway bridge before starting some electrical work.
Built a small bridge, started some landscaping. First time trying flocking... quite messy but I'm pleased with the results so far.
Thanks! It was in a box of old kits I bought off someone, missing the guardrails. I painted it, retextured the road surface, and added wooden rails.
