I'm semi-retired so I have plenty of hobby time but with everything closed and crappy weather all week the cabin fever is starting. LOL
Since all my trains here in France are already bubble wrapped for our future trip to the USA. I am set just to watch TV and chat with y'all form my laptop. Just waiting for the confinement to end.
im semi retired as well so have many hrs , but i do have lots of outside work when its not raining or cold. plus remodeling the house helps a lot for keeping busy, doing one room at a time as money permits.
My new to me doctors believe I may have it. And I'm beginning think so as well. So I'm in lock down. I can't even take my truck in for repairs, it's sitting outside and the landlord isn't happy about all this as well.
Too bad where your landlord is concerned. There are far more important concerns right now than your truck sitting outside. Best wishes for a good recovery. I hope you are in OK shape for groceries and other stuff you need. Also hope you will be able to get tested so you and your doctor know for sure.
I'll be putting my money where my mouth is... As of midnight tonight, my employer is ordered to shut down for three weeks (hopefully no more!) in the latest round of virus mitigation measures. So it's work from home until April 13th.
Shortround, I sure hope you have a mild case of it and it doesn't get worse. Good luck on working from home Mike. I keep expecting to hear that our office staff will be sent to work from home but so far, our owner has not made the call.
The model train becomes a pleasant minor matter. I hope we can all do it. The hobby will continue to connect us worldwide.
Hobby time has definitely increased. Went to work yesterday morning at the dealership and learned we can sell cars from home by appointment only. Illinois shutdown after Saturday at 5:00. We work "on call" certain days of the week. It has given me my mornings back and allowed me to finally update my build thread in the N scale forum.
After a project of evaluating, painting and decaling a 3D printed passenger car for a friend, my wife and I headed out to our armadillo ranch in Central Texas. Have run out of food so have to return to the mad house that the greater Houston metropolis has become. Only a few cars have been down the dirt road here in the last four days.
Well I hope Shortround pulls through this. It's definitely a tough situation this year all around. My hobby has been sort of on hiatus for awhile now. With work and life being to busy. Right now though I am having to stay with a family member because someone had to go to California about the same time it shut down. Then decided to come home early. But she had been around a lot of people! So I did the smart thing and stayed away for my own health. What is disturbing is that the state of Iowa is telling folks, who come back from outta state, to self isolate for 2 weeks. Apparently, because of Facebook and other platforms, people are lashing on folks returning from outta state. In one way , I understand that. We really shouldn't be doing that. But I also get that life must go on and so does work. However, my daughter was exposed because all the engineers at her work decided to go to a conference in Vegas. They had to walk one out, right in front of her, in mask and gloves because he came down with corona. Hopefully she will be ok. She is a CNC machinist in a welding shop. I told her it's hard for to many viruses to live there any way. But it was stupid to go to Vegas. Or California. Any way. So my trains sit 20 miles away. And I am still working. But keeping my distance from populated things. Again. Shortround. I wish you well. And hey. I am still looking to replace or repair my Hiawatha Atlantic..... looking for a motor........ We are all staying home except for me. I'm an "essential" employee, so I have to go to work on my regular schedule. I still have the same 6-mile long honey-do list that has some high priority items on it for the next 6 months (Basement finishing, 2 bathroom renovations, new deck, garden, outbuilding, etc...). However, I'm avoiding the hardware stores, even though they are still open. So all of the work being done on the house has to be with whatever we already have. I will be able to get the basement recreation room for the kids done in the next couple of weeks. I can also work on room lighting in the layout area, but not much else. If this goes on long enough I maybe be able to continue benchwork assembly and perhaps put up a few sections, because there won't be anything left to do until I can get to Lowe's or Ace again. So there could be an uptick in modeling time in the near future, We'll see what happens.
Honestly. My local hardware store is very slow. They are doing there best to keep things clean and follow guidelines for corona. Contractors like myself are limiting our contact with people the best we can. No handshakes and mostly phone calls or texts. Very strange for us! So I wouldn't worry about your hardware store , unless you are in a metro locale that has many covid carriers. Besides. You can order stuff you need online and they will deliver it. Well. Most of them do. And if your really nervous. Just have them drop it off outside then sterilize before it comes in. Best of luck.. Or maybe your not excited to rebuild that bathroom? Bingo! I want to get the layout started! LOL We have a 4 month old baby girl, so it is imperitive that I take every precaution that I can. The wife is essentially homeschooling the 6 y.o. and the 3 y.o. We live in a small town and WV has a Stay-at-Home order in place, but Lowe's has remained quite busy almost like normal.

Thanks to all the well wishers. I wasn't able to get the test, my symptoms weren't sever enough. I knew it might be it because I have had it, like many others, for some 20 years and have attacks several times a year. Most people, especially employers, and the law took it as "intoxication". One other nice thing about it is that there is considerably less traffic on my street and on US 41 the other side of my street.
