Kit bashed Kato smooth side chair car made to resemble Santa Fe car. Built by St. Louis Car Company, the 3071 was the second light weight car purchased by the Santa Fe. It was ordered and delivered at the same time as Budd car 3070 in 1937 for evaluation before ATSF ordered any more light weigh cars. Santa Fe decided to go with Budd and the rest was history. This was the only car ordered from St. Louis Car Co. It was delivered in a coach green paint scheme, immediately repainted two tone gray for service on the Scout and in 1947 painted in the shadow line (simulated fluted sides) paint scheme show here.
Good morning from sunny and cool Northeast Ohio! Branchline 50' AAR Boxcar kit, which I am using to sort of replicate the Lot 968-B NYC Boxcars 1700 of which were rebuilt from 4 lots of 1944 AAR 40' Boxcars, I made a new side sill, lowered the brake gear and filling in all the holes for the high brake gear and ladders and substituted a 10' YSD Door along with new door guides. Painted with Floquil PC Green and lettered with a couple of different Microscale Sets. Next a Tangent Scale Models Bethlehem Steel Gondola Kit, painted with Scalecoat II Black Paint and lettered with Herald King decals. Load was installed that I had purchased on E-Bay. Since I did another PC car this week, I pull and old PC powered train from the archives, SD45's with a grain train made up of NYC, PRR and PC Covered Hoppers. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski
While the paired track across central Nevada operates as a double track main most of the time when work is being done on one of the lines the remaining line becomes a single track main. Here an eastbound Union Pacific train is waiting in the siding at Battle Mountain for a meet with a westbound Southern Pacific train. This is on the Southern Pacific line which normally runs in the westbound direction.
A nice scene Wolf and I love the wig-wag/banjo signal at the grade crossing. I didn't know that these were made in N Scale. Whether it's static or working, it's a really neat detail.
Thank you, so very much. The Wigwags are offered by Showcase Miniatures. And - unfortunately are static. Wolf
As a birthday present to myself I got an Broadway Limited set of AA Baldwin Centipedes in the Baldwin Locomotive Demonstrator scheme. I need to decide to install couplers or a drawbar to connect to the two units. It will be a little while before I get to it. I have a couple of projects on the workbench such as assembling Stewart NYO&W FTA and FTB, and some PS-2 covered hoppers to weather.
We got a lot of snow tonight. Espee 6323 has real work to do, pushed by her sister...... Have a nice WE! Sven
The 7 spot pulling reefers along the edge of the badlands. It's a 2-6-0 of MDC vintage, modified and with DCC. From April 5 years ago!
Working on the P2K GP60 EMD5. Removedthe stock cab, nose and dynamic brake hatch. I am installing some more details to the 3D printed cab, nose and dyn hatch before painting decaling and installation. Thanks for stopping by!
