I’m helping sell off some of my father in laws leftover z scale items, and I can’t find any information about this train car. Can someone point me in the direction of some info?

Rob Kluz at Ztrack.com might know about it. He has published Ztrack magazine for quite a while.

Hi, Proton. There is a German language book, "Koll's Preis-Katalog" my version is printed in 1996. It lists all Marklin items. It may be available on-line. Best. Jim

No, it´s not. They had 2 books, one with the normal Märklin stuff and one with so called Advertisement cars a year later. This car wasn´t in there.

That is a Marklin anniversary car. What was really neat is that Marklin in North America provided a coupon to get a free car with their HO and Z started sets. That is the coupon you show. I would say this was in the late 1980s, early 1990s. We actually have 2x of these in our Resale shop right now. The product number is 2453S.
