Welcome back everyone. I hope you had a great weekend and some things got finished on the list you set out on this past Friday. Let's get started.

Saturday: In what has become a constant trend here in East Central Illinois, it was cold and rainy. It was supposed to be at least 55 but we never got above 49 and it rained hard all day, causing flooding. I worked in the garage most of the day, trying to tackle the future woodworking area. We went to Menards that night for last minute items for the garden and came home.

Sunday: Was supposed to be the warmer of the days, but it never got up to the 67 they predicted. I spent the entire day on the garage and still have a lot to do before I can call the project done. Unfortunately, no model railroading was accomplished by me this weekend.

So how about you? Did you have better luck then me? If so, tell us about it and post an image or two. We'll assemble again on Friday, May 1st, hopefully with the furnace and space heaters off! Until then, stay dry and warm, healthy and safe and as always...

    High Greens!

Worked on Saturday. I am blessed to have a job that is considered essential during these times. We have been crazy busy.

Sunday was another day of cooking for the week. It was also a very frustrating day. I destroyed to two Rasputen Vehicle models. The paint I had applied looked awful so they go into IPA for stripping. They melted and distorted. I also spent a considerable amount of time searching for some Lineside Vehicle models to no avail. I found their web site with no info on it. The name we're not supposed to say site had some models but not what I was looking for.

So I will work on bicycles during the week and try modeling again on Sunday. I have plenty of other projects besides vehicles.

    Have a great week.
Be well, be safe, be happy and keep a smile on your face.

Worked some more on the water tower I built last weekend. Given the tower has a ground mounted water column and not a tank mounted spout, I had to modify the Atlas kit. I mounted the ladder where the water spout was supposed to go and spun the roof around to match. Had to add some pieces and bracing for the ladder. Got it done, touched up the paint with the ari-brush, and lightly weathered with chalks. Also trashed the Atlas ladder and used a Plastruct ladder with .015 bronze wire to form the handrails at the top.

Also, worked on the "Bennington Pottery" walls that are part of SRM "H M Meyers" kit I'm working on. Finished the brick mortar, got the windows in, a little lite weathering with alcohol/ink-wash and got the signs on the endwalls. Now I have to slap it together and knock out the roof. Hopefully I can do the roof during nights this week.

I had a pretty good weekend.

Saturday: Grocery shopping, then to PEP Boys. It was strange - 9:30 in the morning and the Wife and I were the only customers in the PEP Boys. This store was usually hopping. - Then home, changed the oil, oil filter and cabin filter in my Wife's car.

Now for the fun stuff: - I made great progress on the evil E8's, SW8 (modified the frame to fit a Kato NW2 chassis), SW900 (Installed a nano LED in the front barrel head light) -- and.. started decaling the TR6B.

Sunday: - continued decaling - bot the E8's and the TR6B

Here is were I left off on the TR6B's (you can see the E8's in the back ground - they are coming along - nicely) -- one more weekend --

Fixed a crossing, did a little painting on the electrical substation parts and put a lot of figures (7 W/S sets) out on the layout this weekend (one set pictured below). Not really a lot compared to how much time I spent in the train room but I had fun and that's what counts, right?

Saturday I took delivery of the final turnout for the current construction work:

The gon that came with it is from a close friend who has switched to HO and wanted to add to my rolling stock fleet. Given that the prototype often transports prebuilt turnouts in gondolas I smell a kitbashing project coming on.

Other then that and starting to transfer the lines from the plans to the subroadbed, this weekend was all about yard work.

Mostly finished the kitbash of the Northern Power and Light into an elevated station. Still some work to do, but I like how it looks. IMG_2214.JPG IMG_2216.JPG

Spent Saturday painting the wife's new potting bench and raised planter.

Sunday I worked on waxing the first floor flooring.

Not much modeling. I did seal the last two ACF covered hoppers I weathered. Not thrilled with how they came out. Someday I may go back and rework them some.

All the projects look absolutely outstanding! As for me, while "procrastinating in place", I did get some components underway. As of this A.M., boiler work has begun.

I'm a little late, as I was camping Fri-Sun, but with code help from Ben (thewag Trainboard Member), I was able to finish programming my roundhouse lights and sounds animation last night. I ordered the 0402 nano LED's I need to mount inside the roundhouse, and they should arrive before this weekend, to put me back on track on my Lester WA module.

    Here is the animation video:

Didn’t get much done. I adjusted the sound on one sound card I installed a week ago. Decided I need to switch another out that I installed last year. It’s a bit loud. And still have gremlins. While puttering around the train room my wife came in and asked what I was doing in there. She said I wasn’t allowed to work on the main layout until the module is done.
