May the 4th be with you! And while my calendar says May, the weather feels like March. Will the rain ever stop? Will the sun ever warm us up?

Friday: My buddy Brian had a video conference with his boss so we had a late start to our extremely late, Good Friday, Great Railfanning trip. That was okay as the weather was not helping. Typically this time of year, we are already feeling temps in the 80's but we barley hit 64 and even though it was supposed to be clear, it still rained. There was not a lot of traffic either so the only highlights was eating brats track side thanks to a small portable gas grill and ending the day with curbside pick up of fried Tacos from our favorite Taco joint in Galesburg.

Saturday: Work at the dealership. Not much going on right now.

Sunday: Was supposed to be sunny and 59. Since the overnight lows are still too cold for starting the garden, (We are now expected to get a heavy frost this Saturday), I turned my attention to the lawn. This took all day as the rain would come in and interrupt things. I'm really over this weather!

So how about you? Did second winter allow you time to get some work done on the layout? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Friday, May 8th, with jackets on and do it all over again. Until then, stay health, safe and warm and as always...

    High Greens!

We thoroughly enjoyed having our Granddaughter for the weekend. We missed her so darn much.

I also completed the TR6B - "Calf". Next up -- a mate for her -- I am working on an SW8 and an SW900 --

    Good Monday morning everyone.
We had decent weather here in NE Missouri which made for a very busy day at the bicycle shop. People are itching to get out.
The only modeling (if you want to call it that) I did was strip and repaint some models. I wasn't happy with my initial attempt.
I did do some research on some tank cars that NSE is selling. They are perfect for some Western Pacific MOW cars that I've been wanting to do. Cost me 200 bucks. No more new purchases for awhile.

    Enjoy the week.
Call a friend or loved one and say hi.
    Be good to yourself.

As it is the only place I can set anything up, being in an apartment, I completely re-arranged my living room. Now I have space for an eight foot folding banquet table, (to go along with my four footer), and can set modules atop these. The eight footer will remain up at all times, the four foot providing an "L" shape potential, can only remain between uses.

Worked most of the weekend but did get to send a little time working on the electrical sub station so not a total loss.

Thursday I cut the windows and doors out of a scratch build I have been procrastinating on.

Saturday I spent the day doing domestic duties.

Sunday I went back and worked on the model. Added windows and doors. Started the assembly of the walls. Cut the roof out of styrene and got it all painted up. Now all that is left is the final assembly and paint touch up.

Well... I pretty much did what I set out do w/ respect to "Maintenance".
-Labeled a 30' run of wiring for power block "3" which goes from my Digitrax Power system across the room to serve the future coal branch.
    -Cleaned up the room
-Ran the track cleaning tank car and got the railheads good and clean.
-Worked some more on the SRM HW Meyers kit, the Bennington Potters building. I got the tar roof on it as well as got the parapet covers on the end-walls of the building.

Also, ran some dang trains. Imagine that. Sometimes we go in these darn rooms and piddle, fiddle, work, and tinker and forget to do the important stuff!

The only thing I accomplished this weekend was assembling the first floor walls of the passenger station.

Hopefully I'll have time for more progress in a week or two.

Got nothing done at all this past weekend. Took advantage of the weather to pressure wash and re-stain Deckzilla, my 600 square foot split level monster. It (and the maintenance that goes with it) came with the house. Of course now that it's done, the weather has reverted to March for what might be the next two weeks, which means back to the basement for a while... and that's not a bad thing.
