The portal is pretty much finished and I added the rock face next to it. I’m not happy at all with that cotton ball tree, next train show I will rectify that. I still ave more paint and brush to add but I like how it’s progressing.

    Thanks for looking!

Very cool, any thoughts on what you'll use inside the portal?

The hill is done and all that is left is in the tunnels. I’ll put the photo in and also add a wall in the rail tunnel to block the cavity. More to come!

    Thanks for looking!

Early June 1977, the Frisco Port Turn prepares to shove 3 cars loaded with newsprint towards Tiger Switch and then Cherokee yard. Somehow the crew managed to “borrow” one of the red, white and blue cabs for today’s run.

Picked up the cab as surplus from the club to go with my Frisco collection. A welcome addition!!!

Closing in on finishing Bird Creek. I need to do a bit more photo adjustment on the road tunnel interior.
First photo prior to adding the interior wall of the rail tunnel, second after. Makes a huge difference! Before, you could see the wall cavity, it didn’t show so much in pictures but in the room, it was plainly evident when you looked at the portal.

Im also putting SW 1200 switcher back together and will be howling him off soon.

    Thanks for looking.

Looks fantastic Dale! The photo in the tunnel portal really does the trick. What tunnel is the photo from?

I’m not sure Joe. I was trying to find one that looked right to me. I still need to do some adjusting with it.

If your photo processing software has a skew function try that. You might be able to shift the center of the photo slightly left to accommodate the aisle viewer's eye to the direction of the road as it enters the tunnel.

Adding a pic to the tunnel really brought that scene to life. Great work sir! (y)

I was able to reposition the photo a bit to center the stripe better and get rid of how the road looked. The next steps will be to install the last of the rip-rap around the piers in the riverbed and pour some water in the creek. Since there is rock showing and silting around some of the piers, the water will be calm.

From here the plan is to move to the other end of the BNSF side and extend Hwy 167 over the SKOL track with a flashing overhead crossing. I also received my order of Chainlink fence and it will be installed with a gate at Keystone Road into the port.

I hope to get the west side of the layout scenery complete soon.

I do thank you all for the compliments, encouragement and ideas!

    Hi Friends!

POCR 555 Triple Nickel has rejoined the Port roster. It’s not perfect by any means but it looks the part and runs like a dream. Here’s to many long years handling freight at the Oklahoma Seacoast!

    Thanks for stopping by!
