Welcome back everyone. I hope you are all surviving 2020 and trying to find some form of normalcy in these trying times. Normally this time of year I'm excited because my favorite train show of the Midwest is right around the corner. For me, since 1998, I have taken time off to railfan and geek out in Galesburg Illinois for Galesburg RR Days. A show that has always combined both prototype and model railroading and a show I have only missed once in the last 22 years I have been involved. Like so many other shows across the nation, it too is cancelled.

    Saturday: Nothing planned, just work.

Sunday: Going to visit Angela's Dad for the day. Since Angela now works full time from home, Sunday is her get out day which has eliminated another day for me to work on railroad projects.

So how about you? Any plans to work on the layout? Let us know. We'll come back on Monday the 8th to see how we all did. Until then, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

Continue working on my downtown buildings - working on window treatments and signs.

Hope to get the handrails made and installed on my SW900 and SW8's.

    Where I left off:

    Happy Friday everyone,
I'm on a bit of a pity potty this morning. This past week was not one of my better ones. No need to go into details as you wouldn't care anyway. My goal is to get through the next two days of work and start fresh on Sunday. I'm grateful to be healthy, working and to have friends and family.
    See ya Monday(y)

Have a couple of outdoor chores to try and get completed. Once those are out of the way, hope to do what I had planned last weekend. Work onfascia and the scenic divide. If goes well, need to wire some interior building lights and maybe a little scenery work.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

I have one siding to finish laying, 3 sets of feeders to wire up and then track and electrical is done on the first segment of the layout. I also have downloaded and printed a bunch of paper/card buildings to is for stand is until I get other structures built, so I hope to get started on some of those.

There's also grass to cut and a potential visit from T/S Cristobol SUnday into monday to prep for . . . .

Mr. Wiggin, maybe you could arrange with your employer to work on a model RR project at your desk. :D WPSNTS, I think we all have fought the tendency to self pity at one time or another. Things will get better. Hope you are well. Looks like lots of good plans for everyone. Me, myself, I am at this moment (other than lunch and typing this) am building the sub-base for an test turnout using a new design. (and keeping my fingers crossed) This past week I also developed a better method for track construction using a different type of cardstock. I will have to remove all trackage for this upgrade but all improvements will be worth it. The fun continues. :p

Cleaning up my workshop, deferred from last weekend. Also plan on putting in a "shelf" next to Albemarke City on my layout to extend the cityscape. Eventually,, that shelf will hold a large flat constructed of 2 Atlas Middlesex brick factory buildings. The kits are sitting in a cabinet and have yet to be constructed of course.

Also plan on developing a track plan for signaling. I have been discussing my signaling system for quite a while with one builder and I am ready to pull the trigger on it. So I need to catalog some C&O prototype pictures of what I as well as develop a plan. My railroad was built using sketches based on C&O valuation maps (track maps) in a few areas and then just joining those areas together. I have to get my plan a little more "granular" so the block signals get correctly positioned and correctly interact with the other blocks.

    Busy weekend.

Going to try to continue the two current projects- the gas station and the passenger station in between everything else that's going on this weekend.

Well I have been refurbishing the "skimmer circuit" on my Koi pond.................................

HOWEVER, it has turned HOT here. It is currently 104* at 2;30pm, it will likely be around 107-108 by 4pm. SO, I shall concentrate on putting this gal back together.......................

I need to get my priorities straight don't I? At any rate have fun and stay well,
    Carl

With work issues today I’m not sure how much I will get done this weekend

I started to work on two kits. One is almost finished. Not sure if I want add a ding ding sound to the gas station or not. It’s 1942 after all.

I also need to add more paint to the motel kit.

As well as much more to do on the module itself.

I still have the MDC/Roundhouse kits I didn't finsih last weekend. I have assembled the two 36 foot reefers and the one 36 foot wood boxcar. I have the northeast caboose to finnish. My biggest problem is with the ladders. I need something to cut them and remove some of the rungs.
