I have a 30" x 50" piece of foam to build a small N-scale layout. I would prefer to use Unitrack as I have a fair amount of it. What I am looking for are the best layouts / track plans for something that size. I have been to Kato's website and looked at their plans. I don't have any specific requirements, other than size. Any help, including photos or plans are appreciated.

    Thank you for posting.

Dave, you might consider cutting the foam in half to give you two sections 15x50 inches. Then put them end to end so you have a 16x100 layout (200x1333 feet) over a quarter mile long.

A Time Saver layout would give you switching experience. Or if you want to continuous run add some more foam to each end for a dogbone layout. There's enough room on that size layout you could do both.

This is why I like N scale, it lets you do so much in a small space.

SunPlan.JPG I designed this little layout for Atlas track. Might work with Kato. Two inches smaller each way than your 30" x 50" sheet. Can hold two trains or loco on layout, such as one for through freight, one for local switcher. Swap cars between through trains and the stub-end yard track. Three tracks side=-by-side at end give a token appearance of as "yard." Two sided layout with scenic divider down middle.
SunBasic.JPG You could attach a small power at one end and walk around carrying pack to run from either side.
