I agree this is sad news (I just went through a time like this with my soon to be father in law) he was in for a bypass 2 weeks ago. But he came through it as so will JT. He'll be in my prayers.... As said above, be sure to tell his wife, Ed when you talk to her that the whole Trainboard family hopes him well.....
Here's another boxcar full of prayes and good wishes for Johnny and his family. Prayers are one thing you can never get too much of.
Add my name to those who will pray for him, I have been off with a sickness, but not nearily as bad as heart, so I've been slow on the uptake lately.
Many thanks to Ed for privately emailing me about Johnny. Otherwise I would not have known about him. Our family is also praying for Johnny's recovery. Though I have never met his wife and daughter, I feel as if I know them anyway through Johnny. GET WELL MAN!!!
Good Ol' Southern Gospel Prayers from the South!! Don't harass the nurses too much!! Get better! I might be your way this Summer... You gotta be healthy to be tourguide.
Not much has changed with his condition. When he finally gets upgraded from critical condition it shall be a long recovery. Let us please keep him and his family in our prayers. Russ
I had Johnny included in our prayer circle which runs coast to coast, and my sister is adding him at her church. The spiritual soldier are coming together for this one. The lord is heavily involved in this and will comfort all of us through this, and his work will be done. Amen

Russ [/QB][/QUOTE] Hi Russ, Many thanks for posting an update on Johnny. As you said, it's going to be a long recovery for Johnny. I was out of town and unable to get on the Net for 4 days so I'm just getting back into the messages. I got word from Mary Kay tonight that Johnny is making slow progress but still in critical condition. This is going to be a very long process of recovery for him. He will need every prayer and ass the support the we can provide. I did send our messages to Mary Kay and she thanks each of you for them. Johnny is still under heavy sedation so she can't read them to him. Please keep posting. If any of you want to send him greetings personally, just send them to me and I will see that he gets them. My address is : Ed Heiss 1040 Lanette Dr. Cincinnati, OH 45230 Again, thanks to Russ for posting and to each of you for your prayers, support and concern. Many of us have met Johnny and know that he is the "real thing". For those who haven't yet met him, I hope you will have the chance to meet him someday. Blessings and peace to all of you, Ed.
musta been a pretty serious surgery (yes, I know, heart surgery is serious business, but some can be really complicated). It almost sounds like he had some complications. Still lots of prayers coming from here in Texomaland for his complete recovery, and give Mary Kay a hug from all of us. (and give the kids a hug too)
"musta been a pretty serious surgery (yes, I know, heart surgery is serious business, but some can be really complicated). It almost sounds like he had some complications." Bob, Many thanks for your reply and your continued support. Yes, there were some complications not related to the actual heart surgery. I don't know all the details but the complications are the reason that Johnny is still in critical condition and under sedation. There are prayers and support coming from around the world. Mary Kay and Johnny need every prayer we can say. This is going to be a long, hard struggle. Think of it as pulling a 3% , ten mile grade with 10,000 tons behind too little horespower. We can provide a lot of extra hp with our prayers and support. And Johnny WILL make the grade. Peace to all, Ed
Hi once again to everyone, MANY THANKS FOR EACH OF YOUR MESSAGES. MANY THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR PRAYERS FOR JOHNNY. Please feel free to send me flat mail / snail mail / E-mail for Johnny. I'll make sure that he gets each piece. I posted my home address last night as a single point for sending snail mail. I failed to mention that you might want to write "for Johnny" on the envelope so that I don't accidentally open his mail. Also, he's unable to be on the Net. Any E-mail you send to him will just load up his box. Please send any E-mail for Johnny to me, edtrain@fuse.net . Give it the Subject of "For Johnny". I'll print it out and send to Mary Kay so she can read it to Johnny. Be sure to include any good railroad adventures you've had. He would love to hear about them. It will help him recover and be out and about again soon. All the best, Ed
Ed, The surgery that was performed was actually relatively simple (there are chances of complications with any surgery of course). I am not sure that JT would want what happened posted but suffice it to say that someone screwed up. He called me up the thursday morning of his procedure and told me that he would talk to me the following evening when he was released. He never called me so I called his home and his wife gave me the awful news. My jaw just hung open when I heard what had occurred. Ed, when JT sees how supportive you and the rest of us TBers have been he shall be most moved for sure. Let us keep praying! Russ
Ed, if you can get this to Johnnie and his family, I'd appreciate it. Gil Abar (Signalguy) and I met face to face for the first time today. Gil is travelling through Oregon and Northern California. This photo was taken out on our back deck. Gil's on the left, I'm on the right, and my FAO Schwarz shirt is for JOHNNIE, in New York City. We are both wishing you a rapid recovery.
