Hi All, I am wanting to improve the quality of my pics of models. My only camera is an iPhone and I can't afford a real camera right now. The main issue that I have is with lighting. I'm considering one of these https://www.amazon.com/Extra-Large-Photo-Studio-Box/dp/B003ZKJW1K#HLCXComparisonWidget_feature_div There are others for half the price so I only imagine that I would be getting what I pay for. Do any of you use these or something like them? I'm open to any input.
I purchased this one 5 years ago, and love it. Just $30! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000PC4A0O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It is plenty big for up to HO. I would get something larger if you want to take photos of anything bigger. I replaced the included halogen light bulbs with LEDs, which I also use as my standard work-table lighting when doing decoder installs, etc. An example of a loco in this box
Absolutely, though you will need a phone-to-tripod holder. My photo, above, is with a Nikon D7500 with 40mm macro lens, on an expensive tripod, but how the camera is being held is besides the point on how the light box area works.
