We had a large family BBQ last night for a grandson turning 9. Thus, it is quiet here at home today and I was able to take advantage of that and catch four videos of this train makeup. As I was doing java, I saw this large consist leave the service track and head to the east end of the yard. They backed down a track and picked up a boxcar and hopper, which they dropped on the east end of a yard track. Then I got myself positioned to do a video or two...

After the train was together, I moved up onto the hill, which can be seen in the background behind the ballast hoppers, and waited, but not for long,

Got up to head for Hodges and enjoyed chasing this coal train as it blew out of town for Beaver Hill! Happy Father's Day to all the other dad's here!

A couple of days ago, alright, more like a week ago, This lost Beaver loco was spotted just off the service track,

PIC_0022.JPG Along with some local pumpkins,

And even earlier, this train was waiting for clearance just shy of the crossover at the appropriately named "Whistlestop" gas station.

Day before late in the evening I was able to catch this guy racing into town,

And then yesterday was fruitful for video also, with both an empty and a load moving in the yard simultaneously,

What's going on with that 8219? Looks like they're booming something up into the cab?

I'm going to guess it is a test rig for some issue or other going on with the unit.

Had a couple of minutes and was able to catch this guy leaving town westbound Sat night. It seems that train targets of opportunity are my primary catch, but I suppose that is true for everyone. There is an SCL grain hopper in amongst the consist,

    Monday started the week off well with a well timed loaded oil can departure. I was able to get out to the MP 1.93 bridge before it left town and get this under overcast skies;

And then on Tuesday morning, which was a very busy day for trains, two empties and a loaded coal train were all moving at the same time!

What was happening with the three trains? One departing each direction, while another had just arrived? Two arrivals and one departure?

Too bad there isn't an overpass to watch that from, be a cool perspective to watch 3 train movements from!

The near empty was arriving on 2 track. The middle empty was departing from 1 track and the load was leaving off the mainline. It's not often that this many trains are in motion at the same time. And even rarer that I get to see it!

Had a fun catch earlier last week. This blade train was leaving, and I was able to get into a good spot and get the vid. Was also having fun watching the blade tips wiggle a lot as it bounced over a couple of soft joints.

On the last day of June we were getting a bit of much needed rain, and I was able to catch this GE leading an empty coal set trailing an SD75I. Then my battery ran out.

And today was the last day of operations at the roundhouse. So, tonight we have a large thunderstorm hitting us. Hmmmm.

Seems funny. Anyway, all the individual toolboxes and hand tools are in scrap dumpsters, as well as manuals and whatever else the SF decided to have tossed. Sad and strange.

But trains are still rolling! On the 4th I got this double long oil can eastbound with 184 cars and 6 units. Lots of rail noise and such, fun!

Oh Man, make a run on that dumpster the instant the rain stops. Toolboxes. Manuals, what a treasure trove on that infamous e-auction site.

The hatchet men's car was in the yard on the 6th and early the 7th. Appropriately named "Atchison."

And they are watching those dumpsters like hawks, well yesterday they were. Today????
