Here are some of my new vehicles. the Hayes off highway logging truck is scratchbuilt. the other two are metal kits.
The dump truck is made by C in C miniatures. They are on par with GHQ for quality in my opiniun. They have a whole series of the Chevy trucks that most of the 70's MofW trucks were made from. They are also cheaper, another nice quality in my view
Nice work! Tell us, how did you make the off-road logger truck? What pieces did you kitbash, or is it all brass and styrene? The GN and BN trucks look great! I can always count on you for great pacific NW railroad equipment!
Nice work! That GN truck is a real attention getter. Is the log truck something that Simpson used? Boxcab E50
started the log truck using a heavily modified REA Euclid dump truck. I chopped the frame and moved the front axel back. the cab is from the kit. I wish I would have gotten a newer kit from them though, the wheels in this one were pretty lousy. I built the trailer, log bunks, fenders and cab and radiator guards from styrene. The mirrors on all the trucks are from brass wire and styrene. I'm planning on building a fire tender and a heavy duty tractor also to go with this one. Simpson may have used them, I'm not sure though. I painted it to match one I found on a Hayes truck website. I still need to finish my Ramsey tower yarder. It will be on the log landing on my layout. Logging equipment from the 60's and 70's facinates me, and makes neat models, especially in scale.
C in C kits are exceptional. They made a great 1966 Ford Galaxie, 4 door sedan. One of the few quality vehicles from that era. Are they still in business? I haven't been able get any of their products in years. Mike
Hi Mike: Yes they are still in business. I've ordered from them directly, and they are easy to deal with with a fast turn around. Here is a link to their website: http://www.pfc-cinc.shoppingcartsplus.com/page/page/292434.htm Thank you for the nice comments Colonel. It is another aspect of the hobby I really love.
Bill, thank you very much. I really like their products, and their pricing. I just wish they would do more 50's & 60's vehicles. Especially 4 dr sedans & station wagons. I mean really, how many 1985 Porsches do we need? Mike
I agree Mike. I've never built any of their cars, but they look nice. I would like a lot of the 60's cars for my layouts. I think I have about 20 of their truck and trailer kits to build yet. One of these days I'll have all the time I need to complete all my projects on my wish list. Thank you for the nice comment Marty.

Mike
I'll tell ya Mike, I'd take all of them and some 60's Mustangs any day, along with some 60' and 70's era pickup trucks.
Now if we could just get the manufacturers on board. Are ya listenin' CinC? About you GHQ? Or maybe Busch, Wiking, Atlas? Somebody? Anybody? Pa-lease?! Mike (And yes, I know about Road-Apples. Close, but no bananas.)
I recently bought some of the Johnny Lightning Monopoly cars just so I could get the little metal tokens. By picking and choosing some of the tokens are pretty close to N-scale. They don't have the greatest of detail, but the tokens are some additional vehicle models that are not available elsewhere. They do need to be painted, but so do a lot of other kits. I spent a good portion of the day painting some of my little collection.
I've read posts where people mentioned the Johnny Lightning stuff. But this is my first time for seeing any results of their efforts. Those came out very nicely! Boxcab E50
I posted some additional pictures of more Monopoly cars and some Micro-Machines that I have found suitable for N-scale in threads on The-Gauge. It like to post pictures there because there is less hassle involved. http://www.the-gauge.com/showthread.php?t=10637 The Micro-Machine thread: http://www.the-gauge.com/showthread.php?t=10636 [ 06.
