Just finished hanging the 130x16 inch overhead lights valence over modules 04 thru 07. It only took 5 minutes to hang and another 10 minutes to completely install.

Now it's time to work on the oil depot, decided where to put the small tanks. Will glue them down now and then build the office/warehouse and guard shack this evening.

I'm going to store a HO scale time saver layout on top of the valence just installed. It's based in the 1920's and thinking it will be modeled in Enid OK where they have several grain mills served by Frisco. Have plans to get a 2-8-0 Consolidation in the near future.

I put some of my HO scale items on top of the lights valence. The Frisco cars, a building and several vehicles were from Jim James @JimJ and the others are my first train from an Uncle in 1967.

Thank you Jim for the HO items!!!

The top of the valence is 57 inches and my eye level is 67 so it's just right for me. Only time I would need to move the HO layout is when I want to work on it in a better position. The bottom of the valence is 12.5 inches above track level on the N scale layout. When I install the background it can be positioned by sliding it from the bottom of layout. Hopefully will get some Masonite next month for the background and fascia along with LED lights. Cynthia is going to paint the background for me, she does excellent work. With the Masonite I can finish another 96x16 inch lights valence for the frame I built the other day. It will go over modules 01, 02 and 03.

My desk light on the TV tray work bench burned out and it's stuck to where I can't remove it without breaking the bulb. Does anyone know a trick to remove it?

    Unplug it.......

Spray WD 40 between the light bulb base and the socket. Wait about 30 minutes. Grab the bulb with a thick rag. Try to unscrew it. Work it back and forth until it breaks loose.. IF all else fails...grab a BFH and break the bulb. Use a pair of needle nose to grab the base of the bulb and twist it out of there !!!! Always works for me...JS

Joe, I think mtntrainman is right on about the bulb. Not really any other ways to do it.

I like the valance. What kind of lighting are you planning on putting in it?

Richard, I'm going to use LED's for lights.

Will get a can of WD40 this afternoon and try to remove the desk top light bulb. Thank you for the suggestion mtntrainman.

The burned out bulb is in the trash, WD40 did the trick. Thank you for your suggestion!!! Now I can see what I'm working on in the evening.

Glad you got light changed safely. A Home Improvement is only funny on a TV show.

I worked on the oil depot this afternoon, installed the small tanks and retaining walls around the two large tanks. This evening will continue working on the office/warehouse and guard shack.

I bought three styrene packages today for the coal mine and saw mill projects that I will start after the oil depot is finished. The bases were cut about a month ago. Didn't get a chance to work on any projects today but tomorrow looks good.

Looks great! Are you planning to slap some paint on the fascia and lights enclosure? That will certainly add a finishing touch.

Hemi, I'm going to buy Masonite tomorrow for fascia and background for modules 04 thru 07 and overhead lights valence. After that will check on LED lights for the valence.

What would be a good LED setup for a space 10 feet 11 inches long, 130 inches and 12.5 inches above track level?

    Your help is greatly appreciated!!!

Cynthia is going to paint the background, she does excellent work. She won several blue ribbons at the Tulsa State Fair and sold her work a craft shows. One two day show she earned $1000 the first day and $500 second day. We only had 10 items left.

Yesterday afternoon I fixed a turnout that was giving me problems and added some more screws to the overhead valence. For some reason I can't seem to get into the oil depot so will set it aside for a bit and work on the layout itself. Started planting some more trees on module 04 and attached the MFA Grain Mill to it's base this afternoon.

Yesterday afternoon I painted the cab roof on my Frisco 4-8-2 Mountain 1512. Now that the paint is dry will give it a shot of clear coat to get rid of the shine.

Sure makes a difference! Was this a prototype difference for this engine, or was the whole class red-roofed and the model manufacturer didn't include it?
