Working on my last two Bandai cars for the blue train that arrived a day ago from Japan. The running trucks for these for use on the rail have been out of stock now for at least a year. This was part of two orders made just before the Covid 19 mess and they are just getting to me by slow boat.

While my other Bandai cars are little mini RDCs this train will have the power up front with a cab car on the rear. Both these cars get mechanisms for the power for the 6 car train of shorties.

I'm in the process of converting three HO oil storage tanks for use in my N Scale polyolefins plant:

The foreground tank (white) is getting new railings and modified stairs. The other two may just get new paint. I went HO for the tanks as the N Scale versions are too small. Thats the first unmodified HO tank on the left - its N scale counterpart on the right and an N scale tank car in front.

Getting ready to paint the cab roof on my Frisco 4-8-2 Mountain 1512. Everything is set up and the locomotive is masked ready to go. This will be my first paint project with new air brush.

Well, Exxon does like to keep its maintenance ciosts down, and as it turns out scale dinosaurs make great fix it guys - they can do rudimentary repairs easily and without all that darned safety equipment or man lifts. Unfortunately the local beef cattle industry is not supportive of their snacking habits.

My catenary arrived today and I am playing with it. There were no single line poles available so I bought some more double track poles after studying them and determined I could cut them apart. Here is the result.
From the one double in back to the two singles in front.

Now, an unnumbered Rio Grand GP30, and 3 unnumbered Rio Grande GP40’s.
Just gotta find my decals so I can number them! And find my books, so I know
    what numbers to add.

Aside from tanking (!) I've been working a few other odds and ends.

First, a place for cool treats on a hot Louisiana day:

Other Polyolefins infrastructure coming along. The sign is not actually for the plant I am modeling, but its geographically close so its standing in. And yes, the US highway in northern Baton Rouge that runs by the chemical plants really is called Scenic Highway.

Finally, a new industrial building has been received from Black River Western Rail Industries (A David K Smith Company). Its not in its final home yet, but it is going to offer Wizard of the Woods (TM) railcar rebuilding and maintenance services.

Started working on my new Atlas 4-4-0 this morning. Already have added a little tungsten putty on the pony truck and now waiting for glue to set on a new pilot. The pilot is a MT made a number of years ago and now discontinued. I bought a bunch over the years. Probably can still find them somewhere on the web.

Next up is a cab weight and an oil bunk for the tender that has been hollowed out and some tungsten putty inserted.

Well a little further along with the 4-4-0. Now has a oil bunk that is filled with tungsten putty, and a solid metal weight for a Dimitrains gon. cut down and installed on the new front pilot as additional weight as a tool box. Now waiting for paint to dry on the finished cab weight to install. Then it is on the way to the paint shop, and then decaling.
