The whole class had red roofs as far as I know. I'm thinking about changing the number to 1522 for the locomotive my daughter and I chased on May 19th 2001 from the OK/MO state line to Claremore.

The red roof is a great improvement to that engine. (y)(y)

She would make a good 1522 Joe. Since 1522 was one of the most traveled excursion engines, it would be a good number and look right at home on your layout.

I looked through my decals and didn't have the appropriate decals to renumber my locomotive.
Checked eBay and they don't have them either, so I posted a message on the Frisco website to see if anyone has the decals.

Thought I would give you an update on Cynthia.
She has been out of the hospital for 161 days and is doing fantastic, hasn't had to use oxygen since March 4th. We want to go back to the hospital to have her trech removed but not at this time because the virus patient count is going up by quite a bit in Tulsa area. Don't want to take a chance of exposure. Last I heard the hospital has 43 patients with the virus and going up every day.

I gave her doctor a list of equipment that she doesn't need anymore so he can contact the medical supply company to pick up the stuff

We really appreciate the thoughts and prayers though out her recovery, it's almost over.

Her doctor is going to send her to a different lung specialist because the doctor who put in the trech doesn't have any appointment openings till January. It would only take a couple of minutes to remove it but they said they couldn't work her in. Give me a break.

That's good to hear about Cynthia. It's best that you get it removed in an outpatient doctor's office rather than in a hospital with all the Covid still running rampant.

The office of lung doctor who put the trech in keeps telling us to go to emergency but we're not taking a chance of exposure. Too much of a risk. Cynthia's primary doctor is trying to find someone else. She can't talk unless she uses a voice box, I haven't heard her real voice since December 13th. She still finds a way to kick my butt though. Haha just kidding.

It's great to hear Cynthia is doing so much better Joe. Also good that you all are playing it safe too. Glad to hear the prayers are being answered. (y)(y)(y)

    Thank you Richard!!!

Cynthia is ready to get rid of the trech and so am I. She has to change the tube that goes into the trech every night, it's not much to do but it becomes old real quick. At least she doesn't have to use the equipment from the medical supply company anymore, there's a bunch of it.

This evening I purchased a sheet of Masonite and just finished making another section of overhead valence to go over modules 01 thru 03. The rest of the sheet will be for background on modules 01 thru 07. Cynthia is going to paint the background for me probably this weekend.

Edit: This is my 1000 post, it took 11 years to do. Wasn't really an active member until 5 years ago.

    Congrats on the 1000th post.

Looking forward to seeing how Cynthia's background turns out and how the next section of valence looks once it's done and in place! You are lucky to have a wife that will get involved with your hobby. Mine just humors me.

I got the overhead valence ready to hang, need to purchase the safety chain this afternoon so I can install the valence tonight. Off to Lowe's in a few minutes.

Cynthia and I hung up the overhead valence for modules 01, 02 and 03 this morning, 01 hasn't been installed yet. The benchwork has to be extended first. There will be another section over module 08, not sure if there will be another over modules 09, 10 and 11. Will make that decision after they are installed, they go across the room and connect to module 01.

I found some gold numbers to renumber my
4-8-2 Mountain locomotive to 1522 at hobbylinc.com. It's the same company that the main span on the Arkansas River Bridge project came from.

That's what I'm hoping for, Home Depot has the best price on them.

I designed the layout by looking at jewelry counters in department stores and how they connected together.

I'm going to start on the coal mine and saw mill within the next week. Looking for photos of Frisco's Mansfield Branch but haven't seen one I like. So far have only found 5 or 6.

The bases are 5.80 inches (77 feet) by 9.60 (128) and are interchangeable on the layout.

A friend on the Frisco website has a couple photos of Burma Mine 8-13 in Arkansas.

Will use them to build the coal mine.

Oh yeah, I installed the first piece of fascia on the overhead valence over modules 02 and 03 this afternoon. Need to purchase another sheet of Masonite for background and fascia on other modules. Have two pieces 14x96 inches that I was going to use for background but think will just use one for modules 04 thru 07. The other piece will install more fascia on the same four modules, overhead valence and other modules. Would work on the fascia tonight but it's getting too dark to see when sawing so will save that project for tomorrow morning.

Cynthia helped me install the fascia, she really gets into working on our layout. Notice I said our layout. Haha
