I have N&W train orders copied at JK Tower. Also at KD Tower in Roanoke. Where in relation to JK was KD?

Mingo Junction, OH was a famous Alco haunt in the last days of the big Alcos. Either there or to Conway for sure.

OK. Here is an oddity. Located way out in the woods by it's lonesome, this depot/office combination, built for a railroad which never even laid a tie or rail. Kittitas Railway & Power Company's structure at Salmon La Sac, Washington:

Two smaller diesels here. A USMC GE at Cornelia, GA [Feb 1986] and a Hall Printing Whitcomb at New Freedom, WI [April 1987]. The USMC looks too big to be a 44 Tonner. The Whitcomb has since been returned to the city in which it was born, Rochelle, IL. I'll bet that this was a fun one to watch, siderods and all.

Two classics rolled into Denver a few days ago, so naturally had to check them out. Both cars are owned by Webb Rail LLC.

The USMC unit is a GE 80 tonner. It was repainted into a black and orange tiger stripe scheme when it was shopped and is preserved at the Pacific Southwest Railroad Museum in operating condition.

A days travel, started in Chamberlain, SD with the Milw bridge lit up by the rising sun, PIC_0261.JPG Then this guy in Mitchell, SD, PIC_0266.JPG Followed by more of the ubiquitous "Pumpkin Patch Kids," PIC_0269.JPG And a nice surprise at the Hornick, IA elevator! There was a guy doing routine maintenance on her there. PIC_0270.JPG

Beautiful. Too bad we have lost the value of appearance, to the power of cutting pennies and dollars.

Pile driver outfit. Surprising that during summer maintenance season, it is not seeing at least some use.

What a beautiful shot. (y) Prompted by the photos I see posted here on TrainBoard, I find myself an increasingly huge fan of MILW's physical plant, with its stunning engineering throughout. Thanks for posting this and for your other shots too.

Wow, such beautiful cars and superb shots Legoman. Your composition is great and they almost leap off my computer screen! I agree with Boxcab, that the railroad world is a much less colorful place these days.

Just a random photo of what is probably a dead in tow locomotive. Never heard of a lonesome geep being used for a mid train DPU o_O
