While driving home from seeing my kids, I happened to find this. In Churdan Ia this gem is on display. I sure would like to know the history of it if it can be found . [IMG]

From the info I have, this is actually Rock Island 17892, built in 1930 by the RI(?) itself.

It has some very vague MILW lines. But the cupola is too tall for the riveted steel car body. The number on it does not fit into any MILW system. The trucks don't look right for MILW.

Well I wondered about that. Its nice to see someone had info. Thanks Legoman. I think its pretty awesome these small towns try to save some history anyway they can. But it is a surprise to find out its Rock Islands..

So I had to stop at Churdan on my way home from Iowa to see this very neat little caboose. It is open to be walked through at any time!

Plus one that sits in Hornick, Iowa, just off I29 south of Sioux City.
