It's always a rush being near them as they pull, both brands! Lots of sound and the ground vibrating and so on! May be part of the allure?? Thanks for watching, and commenting guys!

Last Saturday I was able to catch three trains eastbound outside of town. This first one ended up parked at Curry, 5 miles east and at the bottom of Beaver Hill. If you listen, the last unit is dead. So, only the lead unit was pulling. I heard the engineer talking to dispatch, he was worried about breaking in two and quoting a new rule not allowing a pusher to be pushing. Weird.

As I headed for Hodges, this coal train was working it's way up the hill,

And lastly, I was able to get this mixed. I saw the signal was yellow for the main east, so sat and waited 45 minutes for this guy to make it here.

I like those old hoppers @3:15 in the last video!!:D

Curry, MT looks like a pretty cool place to hang out and watch the action!
Get a nice chair, and umbrella for those hot days, and a cooler!(y)

My vantage point for that video, the first one, is on a knob across the tracks from the I94. It is a nice spot. Curry siding itself is a bit hard to get to, 4wd only. Hodges, where the cottonwood tree is, is easy to get to and I do spend time out there watching. Very nice!

Found a lost UP ACe in consist pulling 3 DIT GE's and a longish train east. Has quite a few un-vandalised BN 4750's in the set. An IANR flat and NS rolled steel car among a pile of other interesting stuff.

ATSF centerflow hopper with no logo was a neat catch too. The woodchip racks were definitely cool.

Well, last night I caught more of them BN woodchips. It was a weird move, the whole train pulled through the yard on 3 or 4 track, dropped some cars off as it was fouling the mainline, then pulled further east out of town, and finally backed the entire train back into the yard onto 1 track. Strange but interesting to watch!

Had a good train watching day as it was busy here today. I got 30 minutes of video of three, yes 3, trains on the east end doing some power swapping with radio chatter! But those will be a bit uploading. This evening I got this V-train eastbound off 1 track. There's an SP and TFM and a couple of the newer white CP Beaver Heralds.

After an early morning, I headed out around 0930 to catch this half hour of power swapping going on. It is in two videos. The coordination shows just how professional these guys are at what they do. It is like a well choreographed dance. Fun to watch and listen to, as I was able to get their radio chatter onto the video! Yes, I have acquired a scanner, does that make me a true train-geek??

And earlier in the morning, 0530, I got up to a new vantage point to try to catch this action, but the camera battery died. Got a short video of mostly radio chatter and confusion about which units to set out. And some peaceful sunrise shots.

Yesterday morning this guy was heading west. It took a while for the crew to get set to go, but then they pulled hard.

Hadn't made time to watch trains for a bit, too busy and such. But found some time on Tue, the 25th, to catch a couple of trains. The first was a double train of empty grainers from Laurel eastbound, which was Not cut up here and just went east as a double. I did wonder how it managed Beaver Hill. The second was led by a KCS pulling loaded oil cans west.

Secondly, it doesn't seem like there are as many views with the Vimeo platform. Is it problematic?

Looks like you caught the same first half of the train that I saw in Auburn Yard last week! Heritage Santa Fe hopper and the two BN green hoppers!

Had a lot of un-vandalized BN green this week. Sooo, had a happy accident when the Beach or Dickinson local also returned with a string.

Have had a few interesting units around. Not much time to video, but always seem to catch a few interesting units, a lost UP here, yesterday, PIC_0074.JPG Last night this load coal train was waiting on the main for a crew while an empty grain pulled up 1 track. PIC_0071.JPG This rock train was eastbound with an interesting mix, PIC_0068.JPG PIC_0069.JPG PIC_0070.JPG And it finally dawned on me why this unit caught my eye.................extra yellow paint, PIC_0064.JPG
