Good morning, good evening, where ever you may be. Welcome to the start of another weekend. I'm particularly excited because not only do I have my weekends back, but as of Tuesday this past week, I am now employed at Horizon Hobby working for Athearn. It's good to back doing what I love!

Saturday: Not sure what I will do. We have a busy day getting some domestic chores done and I will be spending some time learning about my new toy. Working at the dealership had it's benefits and sales were good enough to justify getting my Mustang GT California Special. Jess, my newest vehicle and railfan Jeep is a 2006 but the newer cars are a bit different with more to learn. I'll probably spend some time with Callie as I call her, and read through the set up guide. I think I have a design for the B&M layout and hope to start getting supplies. Later, I'm meeting with a fellow N scaler and friend along with our wives for dinner. We will probably talk about his N scale layout he wants to build in his new house.

Sunday: I know the lawn will need some work and the weeds in the garden have gotten out of hand. After that, I want to start working on the layout room which is now my home office as well since COVID. The N scale layout will be incorporated into my existing modular layout in the same around the wall with brackets concept currently in place. I plan to build in an L shaped desk/workbench under the layout. I'll start with the brackets this weekend along with the pegboard and other organizational items.

So how about you? What do you have planned? Let us know. I love seeing two pages of this thread because it means we are working on the layouts and RR projects. We'll assemble again on Monday the 10th. Until then, have a great weekend, stay healthy, stay safe and as always...

    High Greens!

Good morning and happy Friday. Working from home today and for good reason. AC Technician will be here today to fix the AC (Mitsubishi mini-split) in the train "attic". That means railroading this weekend!

Hopefully, I would like to start covering a cliff wall on the left (east) side of Albemarle City as well as clean up from some things that got left last weekend due to putzin' around w/ the heat pump unit up there. The cliff wall also needs a tunnel liner. Don't know if I'll get to that, but never know. Depends on how much coffee I drink.

This is the wall that needs some work.

This weekend will center around trying to get some fascia installed on the layout. Got it painted last weekend. Will probably find some other small things to work on as well.

Happy Friday everyone! Enjoy the weekend!

    Lets' see....

Saturday: In the AM - I am thinking about resurrecting a project that I have put on the back burner for a very long time. Then in the afternoon - we will be celebrating my Mother's birthday.

Sunday: If I actually decide to work on the above project - I will continue - If not, I will find another long lost project to work on.

    Y'all have a fantastic weekend,
    Wolf

I'll work on my decaling project and cook up my usual food suspects. Other than that I have no big plans for the weekend. I imagine I will find plenty more to fiddle with as the time passes.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Back from two weeks away so I have a few domestic chores to complete. Nothing onerous so there should be time for some modeling. Here is the state of UP2295's tender.

I want to clean up the seams and joints on the coal bunker. If that is all cured and sanded smooth I will add coal board extensions, wire mesh to support the coal load and figure out which speaker will fit inside.

With the bunker shape and mounting done I can turn my attention to the water tank. The walkway and water hatch needs to be fitted. As that happens the various blemishes leftover from removing the old walkway, hatches and railings will be repaired as required. Hopefully the picture will look different on Monday.

Well, earlier today, I web searched a loco bell pic for reference purposes. I had started on the bell but was not getting the progress I felt like I needed. I fabbed the cross head yoke. Cut out cylinders for the 0-6-0 and 2-6-0. Checked dome measurements and so forth. I think getting started on the shifter yesterday was my major accomplishment for the week. :) Still, last week say another design innovation that will strengthen equipment structurally and let us pull harder we hope. I went through "shop flips" with the railcar upgrades but all is well. Sixteen on the property. Five different types. Pushing for locos and cabooses and more cars (as usual). All stay well and safe. :D

I'm going to Gesso modules 05, 06 and overhead valence this afternoon along continuing painting sky on background. Cynthia will start painting tomorrow afternoon.

Purchased a quart of forest green for the fascia.

I have a Accurail D&RGW wood box car to build (I gave up on the WP one). I also picked up some I-M metal wheel sets and a bulk pack of Kadees for some of the cars I have. I also had some Athearn/Roundhouse cars come in the mail; 50' WP plug door, a 50' CNW NCAA plug door and a Santa Fe 50' MTC mechanical reefer. Man, I can wait to get moved! I should be back at work on 9/28!

I'll be working on my T-Trak-Z module set. Goals are to get all of the modules sanded down, and the hardware attached before painting.

I escaped last week's 105+ heat wave, having spent 5 days in the rocky mountains floating in geothermal heated Warm Lake, riding ATV's, catching more fish than I can eat in a month, and generally having a great time. Here's me floating some carefree hours in the water: 1.jpg
My grand daughters enjoyed their "Epic Warm Lake Camping Trip 2000":

We actually took up 2 camp sites, as we had all the usual suspects present, and them some, from 5 households, spanning 4 generations from 3 to 82 years old:
    4.jpg

So after I got home and spent a couple days unwinding, I got back to the modules. Today I cut the last modules needed for my set, and I have them all glued together now:

And the goal for this weekend, after the glue sets, I have to add all the leg leveling, magnets, and dowel pins so they can fit together like this side does:

During the week I built ten reefers of various types. I finished renumbering two LNE Accurail outside wood truss boxcars. I completed an Reading MDC/Roundhouse NE caboose. I sprayed all these cars plus nine RTR or previously built reefers with Dullcoat. This weekend I want to see how many I can weather. I have two Athearn blue box reefer kits that need minor repairs that I would like to spray with Dullcoat. Then there is two Central Jersey wood reefers I can build. The renumbering decals are supposed to arrive from Accurail on Saturday. Then I have the two Branchline reefer kits to build. This will complete all the reefers I have on the workbench.

If I need a change of pace there is removing the hill on the layout. I could also just run some trains.

Honestly, in summer, in 110°F heat, I rarely think about the layout

It seems that is what I have been doing most of the summer is the modeling with small breaks here and there.
