Welcome back everyone. I hope you had a productive and safe weekend. Lets get started.

Saturday: Well as I was cleaning off the Mustang for her first show, wouldn't you know it? They cancelled it due to "Too large of a crowd." Illinois is one of the the worst states right now on public gatherings and COVID. Instead, Angela and I met her dad and had breakfast then we had our own car show. We drove our Mustang's to my not so local hobby shop where I spent some time with the guys. Ang and her Dad drove to a nearby attraction on Route 66. It was nice to see the shop again. I had not been for at least 6 months. I picked up my B&M GP9's and boxcars and also picked up a Micro Engineering code 70 #6 turnout and some flex track for experimentation. We then left the shop and both of us headed home to put our Mustangs away and meet up for dinner later.

Sunday: I started my day by going to my favorite hardware store and getting supplies for the train room and office. I'm building an L shaped workbench / computer desk that will sit under the eventual yard. I did find two hollow core doors however they are for the garage as it was cheaper to use them as shelves ($2.75) then other sources. I spent the day working on the garage and the brackets then relaxed that night.

So how about you? What did you get done this past weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Friday the 21st to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, stay healthy, stay safe and as always...

    High Greens!

I didn't do a darn thing MRR wise. Just no motivation. It's hard to do a good job when my head is in the wrong place. There are a couple of projects calling me to be worked on so I'll give them the ol' one-two this week.
I'm having a not so comfortable medical procedure on Friday so I want to do fun stuff during the week.

Have a great week and enjoy the days.

After talking about if for longer than I care to admit, I got the last of the fascia applied to the layout. Still some touch up, wire management, and other items but I'd call it a milestone event for the layout. Also went on a wheel painting binge and finished the wheels on 75+ trailers. My trip to Chattanooga was cancelled due to my brother being sick. Hopefully it's not Covid-19 but they made him take the test and we will know sometime this week.

Hope you all have a great week!!!!!

Saturday AM I did start finishing the "hill", "rock-cliff", whatever its called on the east side Albemarle City. Finished by putting in cardboard and then taping down newspaper to protect from the plaster cloth and paint that was to come. Got it painted Sunday AM and pulled all the paper and tape off and then vacuumed and cleaned off.

Here's a somewhat "progression" of events:

    Good mornin Folks,

Well - it was to darn hot to get a lot accomplished.
With that said - I did make some great progress om my friends Model T panel van. Some small detail parts and a bit of touch paint - and, she's done.

Hope Y'all had a great weekend!!

@BNSF FAN - can you tell us about your nicely labeled storage boxes?

Between the youngest girl's socially distanced dance recital and lawn battles, and family swimming there was no train work this weekend.

I did very little track work. We are going through a 100ยบ+ Heatwave, and I'm doing it in the garage:

Funny you should ask. I was thinking yesterday I could use a few more. I can't remember the name off hand and will have to check next time I am in the train room. After I bought the ones I have, the person quit making them. However, I thought I saw somewhere that he is making them again. Will let you all know what I find.

Had a nice trip to Vegas this past weekend. Visited a shop and found a structure I can use on the module.

I had posted 3 items for my past weekend. I accomplished all 3 with a very nice (no problems) fun run day on club layout and then a great 80th B'day celebration with my family.

The 3rd item is also, finally, completed.........................................

I will post more images in my build thread. Thanks for looking.

    Stay well,
    Carl

Wow, it's Monday again! Recollecting...so far the shifter has drive wheels, side rods, drive rods, cross head yoke, cross head guides, main bearing, crosshead bearing. This is about where I ran out of steam (yeah, I know). Also had to do some reshop repairs and upgrades. A little bit ago, I made some coupler hooks. I thought I was out. I was mistaken. Now I have a lot. I thought up a track adjustment tool. I will be making that too. Onward and upward. :D

I did not get as much done as I had hoped. I did get some weathering done on the reefers but no airbrushing. I did paint the base of an old Old and Weary Car Shop Branchline NYO&W reefer.

I did get to run trains.

I didn't get as much done as I had hoped due to the heat, it was 107F on Saturday and 108F on Sunday at times. The evaporative coolers can only keep up for so long before they are overwhelmed...

But I did get some initial testing on the ESP32 CS PCB and found two ICs have the VCC/GND connections backwards (not sure how this wasn't caught through a couple reviews!) and one of them appears to have a short underneath it which I need to remove the IC to find.

I tried to install number boards on EL 6114 after adding the dull coat. I cut them out of a Scale Replica's number set and placed them on a small piece of acetate that I mounted through the back side, then covered with Canopy cement. Unfortunately the canopy cement nearly obscures the numbers so they are barely visible. I'll probably have to cut them out and start over. This was my first attempt at making a custom unit. The pin striping decals were very hard to install due to oversized factory rivet lines in the spots the lines were supposed to be placed. It was a bear getting them to settle down over the oversized rivets. I finally gave up and hand painted the line on the bottom. It ran a bit and it shows up more in pictures than is visible to the naked eye. I'll probably look for some more undecorated shells and see if I can do a better job on the next one. Nothing. I had a minor hand injury at work Friday. So spent time icing it and trying, but failing to loosen stiff fingers and reduce swelling of the rest of that hand. Grrrr.:rolleyes:

Made some progress on the tender. Got the coal boards on and started adding rivets. Put down the planks on the walkway "wings." Today more rivets arrived in the mail so I can move ahead with that step. (Good turnaround btw, ordered the rivets late Thursday night.) The brass strips I need to complete the walkway/ladder structure should be here this week. Here is where I am today:

Back in the 60's as a kid, I used to read model RR loved looking at the old ads for diesels, etc. Always thought some of the neatest looking F units were the NYO&W. Cool railroad. Bet they'd be cool to model.

Friday evening I cleaned the work table and moved it out of the way so I can modify module 08 benchwork.
