Thanks! Yes, it is gone now. I always took photos of SP's line side items. I will post more of them.

"But boss, the tower's ready to fall over."

"Just put a pole up against 'er. That'll hold 'er up. She won't go nowhere."

    "OK."

The Erie's beautiful station at Middletown, NY has been renovated since my March 1981 shot and is now a library I think.

Here it is in its glory days. Looks like the leftmost church spire was removed in later years.

The NYO&W's General Office and Shops were also located at Middletown, NY. This was their station and General Office, taken November 1981. It housed a nightclub when I took this shot, but it was since abandoned and suffered a fire in 2004. I think the building still stands, but I'm not sure what its current status is.

Here it is in its prime.

Not far from my "Armadillo Ranch" in Milam County. At one time Rockdale was served by both the International Great Northern Railroad (MoPac) and the San Antonio & Aransas Pass Railroad (SP). The SA&AP was pulled up after 1967. A short section of the old SA&AP "Waco" line remains in Cameron where the BNSF uses it to serve a few businesses. Now the UP runs the old Mop line through town here.

Here a BNSF work train is pulling off of the remains of the old SA&AP line in Cameron onto the BNSF mainline.

About ten years ago, the town sold the building to a healthcare provider who was going to rehab it.
That never happened due to financial issues. Now, the town owns the building, again.
Apparently, there are numerous proposals about how to redevelop the building, but most lack the necessary funding to see them through to completion.
So, for the time being, the building remains in this condition:

How much of the former NYO&W line here is intact?

Looks like the line runs several miles south and stub-ends at an industry, but most of it was never O&W owned. I'm guessing that the NS train was making an interchange with the Middletown & New Jersey that serves the line. Up until the late 1950s, the line continued south to the NY/NY border where it connected with an NYS&W branch.

Thanks for bringing us up to date on the station Point353. Without a roof on one end, the structure will rapidly decay.

Some things I miss. Interlocking towers [Junta Tower, Cartersville, GA 12/1987], cantilever signal bridges and traditional signals [Cornelia, GA, 06/1985] and woodracks [Atlanta, GA 08/2002].
