I didn’t think about gluing the bolts since they have a square underbelly. Good idea! Especially when I will be gluing the foam board on top of the door. Thanks again Sumner!

If I was to transport the layout, I will keep the table attached to the door. There’s about 5 inches or more between the top of the door and the bottom of the table. I have about one inch of bolt left hanging.
If I did need to separate the door from the table. It would be more for wiring purposes only.

Well today I glued the foam board to the door. I first drilled the holes in the divots from the dome of the carriage bolts. This is to mark the area for me not to drill. Then I glued the carriage bolts to the door then applied plenty of glue to the door. Then placed the foam board on top of the door. After that I placed a lot of heavy items on top of the foam board. Now I will have to wait for a couple of days. Hopefully I have enough weight on the foam board.

WOW! Nice looking pinch bar you have. I don't believe I've seen one of those in some 55 years. Grandpa's hunting lodge out side of Marinette had some small railroad spurs way back. That area was destroyed the same day Chicago burned down 'because of some dumb cow'.

Thanks! The one next to the Missouri Pacific book is an NYCRR. The one on the back is unmarked and a lot older. the bar is flat on that on with a round top. plus the claw is made for smaller spikes. I am assuming this goes back to the 1800's .

It looks like the rooms our HCD layouts are in approximately the same size. We recently relocated the wifes treadmill freeing up space for my layout.
I'm planning on rearanging and removing some furniture and her wall decore this winter. I have some pictures and railroadiana stored away.
    Yours room is an inspiration.

Well, we got lucky with this house. It has three bedrooms and the deal was she wanted a room to decorate if I was to have a train room. This room is the second largest room just shy the dimensions of our bedroom. As you can see it has plenty room to put a 4x8 layout. I decided to have more room for my railroadiana.

That will come. But before my posting yours was just ( . ).
My last layouts 'N' gauge were set up rather similar to yours. Smaller fold up tables but one had file cabinets as extensions.
They are long gone as well as the pictures. Now trying to work on an 'HO' layout.

Oh yes I posted something by mistake on this thread that was supposed to be on the wanted thread. I couldn't completely delete it so I did this.
I don't plan to go back to HO. Due to the cost and because it is Horribly Oversized! I do have Z scale too. This I have to use my high powered reading glasses to insure everything is good to go.:ROFLMAO:

Today I work on the room and I used my rasp to file the back two sides of the foam board. To make it somewhat even with the door. Also yesterday evening I had to add more glue to the corner where you can see the rust on the foam board. I used my 50lb rail to keep the corner from bulging. Also in the photo you can see the holes where the carriage bolts are. This is a marker to remind me not to drill within 2” as I have a 2” washers underneath the carriage bolts. So I displayed some of my items in my room. Also one of the photos I have an bottle opener, that I purchased at Walmart two years ago. It is the Missouri Pacific buzzsaw emblem. Hmm, I wonder if Uncle Pete has filled copyright infringement with this company yet?

Well today I received my first shipment of Tomix tracks from an fellow forum member of another group. What I bought was more than what I was expecting from what I thought that he had. I had to redesign an small portion of the layout in order for it to fit and look great. Plus I received some controllers for the turnouts.
Here’s some photos of the track I set up for what’s to come.

Well since I am waiting for extra funds to purchase some more of my track for my layout. I took it upon myself to make an oval to "test" out some of my new locomotives. Here is a video of me testing one of my intermountain SD40-2's under DC not DCC. I did find that it worked great by running it between 40-70 on my MRC 1500 controller. You will need the volume up on this.

Well I finally ordered the rest of the tracks needed for this layout. The thing is about that, is it might take about a month to arrive at the house. According to the Banzai Hobby shop. They cannot send anything to the USA by airmail. I did ask them if they could ship through DHL since FedEx and UPS has suspended shipping from Japan vice versa.

Anyway I did buy some oops paint at Lowe’s last week. It is a cappuccino spice color. Hey for $1.25 you can’t go wrong! Here’s the end result from painting the layout. [IMG]

Well a couple of days ago I received three buildings for my layout. Today I was able to assemble two of them. Only thing is that I will need to raise the two buildings up at least 1/16th of an inch. The clearance is a tad bit too low because of the Tomix tracks height. The best thing is that they are small enough to not over take a good portion of the layout. Like some of the other buildings that I thought would work for this layout.
