Like the two curved bridges. Looks like two competing roads side by side. Especially like the deck girder abutments. You got rock on the upper line paired with the wood bridge, concrete on the lower paired with steel. Makes it look like the lower was built a couple decades later.
Thanks! That was the intention, a well kept mainline (ballasted GN red) and the branchline to the town (ballasted basalt gray). Underbrush and foresting continues!
Ballast begins. Think I need to trim up the edges of the pink lady granite for the mainline, but otherwise like the contrast of the cinder base layer to represent older ballast coupled with the empire basalt of the inclined branch. Got a bunch of static grass, wildflowers, and conifer forest floor from Scenic Express to try to add some texture, that's tomorrow's project along with finally getting a workbench next to the layout now that unfinished space is running out!
