Welcome back everyone to that gateway to the weekend. I hope our fellow modelers on both coasts are staying safe. 2020 has certainly been a tough year. Onward!

Saturday: A busy day planned. A trip to Menards to get supplies needed for the yard extension of the B&M N scale layout, HO modules and some tools. Then it is off to my not so local hobby shop to pick up my order of Micro Engineering code 55 N scale and code 70 HO track, some tools and whatever else catches my eye. From there, back to the work shop to finish the one HO module as well as the hardboard shadow box for the yard extension and some other odds and ends. I'll need to end the day early as we are having dinner with Angela's Dad, celebrating a milestone.

Sunday: I'll likely finish up any projects not completed on Saturday as well as perform some much needed lawn and garden maintenance. I have everything I need for the B&M layout, just no definite track plan, so I'll likely work on that some more. I'm hopping to accomplish a lot this weekend.

So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 21st to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, please be safe, be healthy and...

So.... hopefully, I find the motivation to work on projects

Saturday: - We have an appointment (On line) with our financial adviser. Hopefully, I am still on track to retire in a little over 5 years (At 63) --
After the meeting, my wife is taking our Granddaughter out to stay the night with my Wife's niece and her her daughter. So.... I will have the afternoon and evening to myself.
My plan is to work on my 2-10-2 project. As well as paint a GHQ REA truck/van.

Sunday: - Continue the 2-10-2 and REA project - ??

    Y'all have a great weekend!!

I spent the week cleaning and reorganizing my little train/hobby room and moved layout to workbench.
I'm going to finish last five pairs of power feeds and start jumpering them pair at a time to start track testing.

I have a rather pronounced S turn leading to coal silos. It will only see small loco and two hoppers at a time maximum. I need to test it before continuing.

If all goes well and I get my first run around all trackage I have a little celebration!

There are quite a few things I want to do this weekend. Before I left for the office this AM, I walked around the layout eyeballing stuff for the weekend. Came up w/ about 2 weeks worth in lieu of 2 days worth. With that in mind, for this weekend ..

    • Get out my old engines that I haven't run in a while and assess what I need to do have them back in service.
    • Start on another building for Albemarle City. I have a 2 Atlas Middlesex Mfg buldings I socred last year, so I want to combine them into one large flat. It will sit on top of the ridge I finished last weekend.
    • I have a large foam lined tray I use to carry rolling stock back and forth from the work shop to the layout. It is now full of cars that need "attention". So I hope to spend time on those.
    • I still have some track conductors under the layout that need some better separation for current sensor operation associated w/ the singling system I am having built. So I may grunt and groan crawling around below the layout.
We'll see what how this turns out on Monday. Have a great weekend all!

This weekend I will be at a Free-mo meet.

The Utah Free-moN has gotten together. Good turn out. 50% of the group showed up. The other 50% had a family emergency so we are 7 modules short. The HO guys showed up and thought they could do better.

This will be going on through Sunday. Have fun everyone!

I received the LM358 dual op amp chips to repair my 3 burntout Hare turnout decoders, and will try and fix them, then continue programming them, and setting up the Tortoise machines on my Coal Dock module. This module's trackwork has plague me all summer, and I want to put it to rest. Such hassle for only 1.4 square feet of T-Trak module.

Glad the weekend is upon us.

Yet another trip to Chattanooga on Saturday. Will begin the process of packing and distributing what didn't sell at last weekends estate sale. Plan to get home early enough to get the final coat of paint on the GHQ scrapper I am working on.

For Sunday, I plan to finish up the GHQ scrapper first. then if I feel up to it, I will move over to the layout and install a crossing for a parking lot entry and work on the road approaches to that. Need to do a little work on how the scenic divide is attached but not sure if I will get to that or not.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

This weekend will be continuing with the staging yard rebuild. 4 of the 5 turnout motors at the entry end of the yard have now been wired and tested so I'll start by finishing off that last one there. With the loop end yard ladder cut off I'll then have a 4 track stub end yard plus a 5th track with a siding. Before I get started on rebuilding the loop end yard ladder I want to get the new control circuits going so that is what I'll mostly be working on this weekend.

The air quality here has greatly improved over the past several days so no more excuses to get out of doing some yard work. At least one evening I'll make some of my own smoke with the BBQ.

    Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

Kevin that looks like a great setup. Is this a public show or just a club meet ? I really miss being able to get to a show or open house. It's been exactly 1 year since I have been to anything. I am really hoping for a vaccine soon enough so the N Scale Convention in Sparks and the National Train Show in Santa Clara can happen next year. Have fun this weekend with that club layout !

Since I took a week of vacation this week it’s a been a nice long weekend for me. Sunday morning I started building switches. By Wednesday night I had three switches mounted and wired onto a small module for testing and grading. Yep it works.

The wife wants to start the Halloween decorations. It is a little early. We usually start the last week of September but given this year we need some fun.

I finished the last of the reefers about an hour ago. I am waiting for the Dullcoat to dry. Not sure where I will go next. I did spray some boxcars with Dullcoat to prepare them for weathering. The cars are
    • 3 – Delaware & Hudson Athearn 50 FT Boxcars
    • Delaware & Hudson Bev-Bel/Athearn 50 FT Boxcars

I want to trim down the Wall of Trains on the workbench before I start the layout remake. I feel if I don’t, I won’t be able to make the commitment I need to work on the layout.

I also plan to run some trains.

One side down. Hope to get the other side rivet decals applied and then spray the black. May be a bit of wishful thinking, but............

I've been working on designing an n scale U18B kit for these last few weeks. The hardest part so far has been printing the railings without all kinds of defects - finally got that worked out, they fit great and look great. So this weekend I'm going to be designing the fuel tank then I should be in the home stretch fine tuning fit, trim and details. Such a fun project! Chassis is an Atlas GP9:
