Looks wonderful !! All magnificient D&RGW, SP, UP or BNSF AZL locos must feel at home on this layout ! BTW, Hans, could you show us here your layout's trackplan ? Dom
Trees are from Loren Snyder among others. Have to come back to the thread with the source of the switches. We have built 3 interchangeable scenery sections for the small layout. Approximate layout enclosed
Very nice work. What is the scenery height here? 18 inches or so? It's incredibly deep for most any scale. The tall mountains dwarf the trains. The tunnel at lower left in the image above has the feel of Tunnels 35-37 in Gore Canyon. The scenery is plausible for just about anywhere on the Front Range.
I believe Fasttrack switches and Atlas track were used. More info here: http://www.spur-z-atelier.de/messestand-und-anlage/#moffat-tunnel Matt
I agree. One of the German companies makes a slow motion solenoid that would be a perfect driver. It would be great to see the post-breakup Rio Grande Zephyr, still looking like the CZ, pulled by DRGW E units.
Yes, we used Fasttrack jigs for the turnouts and Atlas flex-track. Photo: Very early stage of construction.
