Hopefully I can do this here. For anyone who has not done removal of 3D printed supports previously. Plus maybe my project trucks less scary in the video. Sorry it is long but I decided not to edit it. This way there is no question how long this might take. You may skip around and edit it yourself to make it shorter.
Yes. Your eyes are not deceiving you. The little cubes which make the mesh are approximately .25mm square and the wire mesh is appx .1mm thick. This all prints around 90% proper every try. In theory I could go less vertical and horizontal. But then it loads the holes and the mesh is wobbly.
Building on the previous question and reply. This is revision four or five of a model which is now almost completely different than it was in its first version. Welcome the reasonably accurate Road Boss. My obsession with this old truck is clear for anyone to see. First real truck that I drove easy to see why. Won't even bother using the previous versions of this as a comparison point because there really is nothing there. Now I have the Autocar cab which White used. While not 100% correct is pretty close. Gone from the previous version are the incorrect air filters. Gone from the previous truck are the incorrect Wheels. Gone from the last truck are the incorrect exhaust pipes. Now just like the real truck I have a single stack mounted to the frame rail behind the sleeper. Then in reference to the previous question and answer you see the grill screen mesh. Hope you like it.
By the way because it wouldn't be apparent from the picture of the real truck. That was very early on when I first started to driving it. I later changed the color of the air filter and oil filter then added disc wheels to the steer so the model is representative of the real truck later in its life
Rounding out my tour de force of White Road Boss type trucks. I have for you some very basic LTL type tractors. Specifically Roadway. feel free to comment on the windows. I have been trying various ways of coloring them and this is by far the most complex. It is also probably the best. I am using a blue gray base topped with Tamiya Smoke Clear.
One more Road Boss. This time. Full owner operator version. Long Hood big sleeper and a lot of Chrome. Pulling a brand new trailer for me which is a milk tanker. Put your sunglasses on because this is stunning in all of its shiny brilliance accented by Pearl black paint.
Glad you like it. I am currently obsessed with the MOLOTOW chrome paint which is outstanding stuff. Expensive but worth it. It airbrushes well but more importantly it brush applies nicely as well. Trying to not to overuse it but I can find plenty of legit reasons to use it on semi trucks and trailers. Just out doing errands today and realized I should do a Great Dane something or other with the quilted stamped steel back doors. Perfect excuse for limited use of the chrome paint or what the heck. Full blown stainless trailer all around. Working on something some may find to be cool. A Mack DM type truck with a large dump body. Locally when I was a kid once brother in a 2 brother company had a bunch of these in a nice cream and red paint scheme. When I drove truck and got out to Appalachia I recall these were a mainstay for hauling (coal???) in the mountains. Should have some appeal. Stay tuned and again thanks for the nice words. Just learning here so it should only get better as I figure this stuff out.
