    Jim,

I got those and the fire hydrant from Rolfs Laedchen http://www.rolfs-laedchen.de He doesn't have the trash cans on his website any more, however Rob Kluz may have them at ZtrackCenter http://www.ztrackcenter.com/rolf-laedchen/rolf-10531.Z I have tried getting a hold of Rolf but he has not returned any of my emails. I hope he is OK.

You can also get a whole bunch of well made galvanized trash cans from Stony Smith https://www.shapeways.com/product/R73RTG6V6/metal-trash-can-set-zscale?optionId=140065740&li=shops Stony made them with lids on, empty cans with lids off and full cans with lids off. I have a bunch of these and am in the process of spray painting them a silver metal color and then just weathering them with a black ink wash.

    Enjoy!

    John

Thanks, John. I like Stony Smith's stuff. I will put together a shapeways order. I haven't done that in awhile. I don't know if you got Rslasers "Grove" kit, but it has excellent porches. A lot better than mine. I am working on a version 2 of Columbus Ave. using these kits as well as some Munson buildings to make another block. Less lighting, too. One of these days, months...I'll get a 4' module laid down and have something to show. Jim

I am not sure if Rolf is still around. He stopped production some time ago. We haven't been able to restock. It is too bad. I LOVE his products.

Happy Thanksgiving! I had some time over my Thanksgiving vacation to work on a Borden's Butter Dish Milk Car. Yes it's out of the 1960s era but I love this car and just needed it on my layout. It is a resin casted kit that I purchased long ago from Dean Kohler. I painted it in the colors of the Borden's Butter Dish Milk Car that is at the Illinois Railroad Museum. The decals were made for me long ago by Daniel Pikulski of Dan’s Resin Castings and Decals.

I'll post a photo soon as I can determine why I can't upload photos to my Trainboard postings.

    Enjoy!

    John

Nice! I wonder if they had any of those cars with the Elsie the Cow logo?

    John,
I just read through your thread. I read through it backwards, and the impression I got was that the layout was much bigger than it is!
I think that is a testament to your layout design, modeling skills, and some nice photo angles.
    I'm enjoying this thread.

Indeed, fantastic attention to detail. Always appreciate a fellow modeler that’s putting that much attention to those micro small details. Good work.

The sign actually came out real nice. The printing usually gets very pixely when they are that small, but this one came out real clear!

Those little switchers are fantastic! Think I’d get a boxcar powered up just to give illusion of them moving!

Whoa, what a marathon read! I just stumbled across your thread, and the detail is mind-boggling. You have nailed the look of a gritty inner-city. Wow. Major kudos!
