Russ.As I told you on the Atlas Forum,I'm gonna reserve judgment on this model, until you finish it.But boy,you sure make it hard, for a person to hold his tongue. Thanks for showing this. Gordon
Thanks, guys! Yep! Brass handrails going on now. Here's some other additions...interior detail with dashboard, booklets and a "Big Gulp" soda! Notice the BLMA drop grabs as well. Russ
Russ, That unit is just looking soooooo sharp. Wish I had the patients and skill to do that. Great job. It's one beautiful unit!!!!!!!
OK, here we go!!! Here's the finished model Njoy! Russ [ 26. February 2003, 02:07: Message edited by: tehachapifan ]
Russ, that is absolutely beautiful What will you use for the chain across the end handrails? OK Atlas, that is how it's done....how about it?
Thanks for the compliments, guys!! I do appreciate it! Not sure about the chain, Alan. I may just leave it as, but I may add some scale chain at some point. Might even try installing a molded chain off an Atlas handrail set. We'll see! BTW, since these last photos, I actually added the horn (oops!). Russ
At first glance, you would think that model was an HO scale brass import. The detailing and finish is really superb.
TF, I am not much of a Warbonnet fan, nor an ATSF fan either *dons fireproof suit* but that looks FANTASTIC! You certainly have got to have crossed eyes by now with all the details.. I love the 'Big Gulp'! I want to post a few pics of my latest, but not so great, (especially by the standard you just raised) projects I have in the paint shop: Pair of BN WhiteMACs, spliced with correct BN fuel tender, GN Big Sky Blue SD9, SP&S SW9, Oakway SD60, GN Empire Builder Brass Car Sides Great Dome conversion... The list goes on and on with unfinished projects. I did manage to finish one: an SD40-2 snoot chop bash for a BN unit. Someday I'll get pics up!
Thanks, guys! HemiAdda, by all means, please get those photos up! Always enjoy seeing your fine models! Russ
ANY color scheme would beat the H2 - I much prefer the H1 variety. I gotta agree on the warbonnet scheme- that's the only scheme that belongs (and NO BNSF letters- Santa Fe all the way! ) (after seeing pics of your diesel) And here you go & add BNSF initials- oh well, it's YOUR model- and HOT DANG, it looks GOOD! Better than most HO models I've seen anywhere. [ 15. March 2003, 20:33: Message edited by: friscobob ]
Wow!!! Amazing how far N scale has come over the years. And the talent that shows itself is unreal. Fantastic! Boxcab E50
Russ, I have really enjoyed watching your progress on this unit. The final product is absolutely fantastic. What a great job. What's going to be next?
