There’s a lot of really nice work in this thread. Thought I’d keep it going. Here’s Milwaukee SW1 #1612 in it’s second paint scheme for 1948. Paint is a combination of True Color, Tamiya and Valejo. The cab heralds are from Circus City with the remainder of the decals homemade. Added details are BLMA wire grabs, windshield wipers, and wind deflectors. Scratchbuilt engine heater, homemade brass exhaust stack, cab shades, arm rests, trainline hoses, 905 Z couplers, bell cord and operational marker lights. The markers are resin castings from a friend that I drilled out to accept 0402 LEDs which are function controlled. The switcher is also fitted with a Loksound v4 56899 decoder and a Soberton 8x12 speaker in a styrene enclosure. There’s a pair of 25v 220uf capacitors in the cab as well.
Twice a day, traffic on Sea View Blvd. comes to a halt as the local switching move shuttles cars to and from the two industries located at the east end of the street. This time around it is a GM MP15DC doing the honors but it could have just as easily been an old Gp9. The one constant is the transfer caboose tagged on the front of the consist, as there is no runaround track available and all industry tracks are head-in the cars must be shove forward when moving east thus there needs to be someone forward to insure the vehicular traffic has cleared the ROW. It could even be assumed that the switcher is equipped with some form of radio-control and the engineer would be standing on the caboose's leading platform.
My 44ton USAX 7492, renumbered. 7492 is now IRYM 501 - I found as only one close similar to Bachmann model. All other (know to me) Army centercabs were 65 or 80 tonner. Or Whitcombs. Bachmann road number 2032 is for Army SW9, accordingo to these roster. http://www.trainweb.org/emdloco/15000.htm
Misiek, Your photo is really nice! Where did the backdrop photo come from? It is very effective, is it right behind the track? - Tonkphilip
This is wallpaper from one polish shops. I ordered as sticker in 20"x10" size and glued to PVC sheet. Using as backdrop to my small "presentation diorama". Picture found alse here: https://stock.adobe.com/images/pennsylvania-mountains-in-the-fall/95269669
This is a Kato NW2 on my freelanced railroad. Pulling power isn't the best, but it makes for an excellent shop switcher! Sometimes it gets to stretch its legs on a local though.
Sorry, I had to flip the photo. I am getting too old to stand on my head while balancing on my my swivel desk chair.
Easier to turn your monitor upside down...LOL. Also easier to turn a tablet or even your cell phone upside down to view it...
Yeah, but you have to turn autorotate off first. And before that, I'd have to use the "help" section on my phone to find it. Easier just to stand on my head.
My 4 stack CB&Q VO1000. Probably the wrong road number for a four stacker, maybe I'll renumber it correctly at a later date. My father said a pair of these were assigned to Alliance when he was a child, and that you could hear them start up anywhere in town. I'd love to find out which numbers they were.
