I would believe so. They were the primary power on all CGW main lines for a long time.

Uncle Pete from their acquisition/assimilation/takeover of the MKT. They have not unloaded it to any sortline yet so I guess they like it.

As you can tell, I like old photos.

Here we have a woman, with Kodak box camera, taking a photograph of her friends on the open platform of an observation car. Probably the Southern Pacific in El Paso, Texas.

WWII? I'll see your troop sleeper and raise you D-Day!

CP train 499 had CP 6644 second out tonight, and we chased from Drake to Voltaire, running out of light long before Minot.

I went to high school in Dickinson, Texas in the late 1960s. Back then they still raised a lot of strawberries on the local farms and had an annual Strawberry Festival. Good times if your name was Straw and you liked strawberries. :D:):ROFLMAO: The Galveston, Houston & Henderson Railroad that ran through town was jointly controlled by the MKT and MoPac.

March 1981 at Denville, NJ, a junction on the former DL&W. The train is on the Boonton line and is about to join the electrified mainline heading west. The Boonton line was a well engineered freight bypass. A lot has changed in 40 years and I'm not sure if the Boonton line remains as a through route. The 6695 is a former EL SDP-45.

That WAS a long train! I guess the criminals don't like defacing the hoppers as much as the boxcars.

OK, I can make my reply railroad related. :D

When I was a kid, one of our neighbor ladies grew strawberries in her backyard, every year. As we kids listened to the nearby Milwaukee Road, she would have us pick the strawberries for her and said we could eat as many as we wanted She was lucky to end up with any because they were SO good. We just kind of cleaned the dirt off with our hands and ate them. We didn't care.

These days, strawberries just don't seem quite as flavorful.

    Doug
