Just finished for now my Atlas / Kato Alco Milw Rsd 5 # 575 fuel tank is not right, but for now, it is done. I lost the front handrails, they are hard to find so I used and modified some from a Stewart Rs 3.
I don't recall seeing any 'Milwaukee Road' engines in Wisconsin. Only in Kentucky or Tennessee when I was in the army. Here there were CN and something from Chicago. Many years ago.
I am looking for one to take care of the work trains on my layout. How does it go, is like the standard KATO drives? Is it easy to put DCC in it?
It is DC, this is what I run at this time so no DCC info (sorry) It runs great very good crawl. I got it used so I do not know if there is more than one release or China made latter version.
In 1975, the Milwaukee Road began receiving an order of EMD MP15ac engines. Following this, their FM, ALCo and Baldwin units started to disappear. After that they abandoned 6000+ miles of their system, March of 1980, so your chances for seeing MILW power in Wisconsin would have been greatly reduced. Then after their 1985 being merged into the Soo Line, the little bit of Wisconsin activity remaining would have quickly disappeared.
