Greetings everyone. We are almost there. Not only is the weekend almost here but February is almost over which means spring is almost around the corner. Let's get started.

Saturday: After what will be a stressful day on Friday with a Dr. office appointment and making sure all the new Announcements are on the Athearn Website plus the afternoon Live Feed, I'll be ready for a weekend. I plan to sleep in and then have a good breakfast and head to Bloomington to help my buddy out with the N-Trak modules. The modules were passed on to us to take care of and display at shows as the primary club has gone to T-Trak. We have our first show in May so we plan to inspect each module, test it and see what each module needs. It will take us most of the day. I'm hopping by mid afternoon we can set up a simple loop and run trains. We are supposed to have temps in the high 50's here so we maybe able to set up in his garage.

Sunday: Last weekend, I got the HO scale layout top painted and all the lines drawn for the track placement. I'm using Micro Engineering code 70 track and my first task is to detail and wire the three turnouts. For simplicity, all the turnouts will be manual but I still want a working switch stand. Research is needed but I hope I can get most of the trackwork done on Sunday. Doubt I'll be running trains, but we'll see. I hope to take it easy Sunday while laying track and any other small RR chores.

So how about you? What is on your list of things to get done in the shop this weekend? Let us know. We'll come back on Monday, March 1st to see how we did. Until then, enjoy this last weekend of February 2021, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

Progress has been S-L-O-W and this weekend looks like no exception. The weather is supposed to be beautiful here, so I'll probably be spending a lot of time working outside. I will try to make some progress, though. I had hoped to finish the depot during this year's layout party, but that won't quite happen as there are a lot of details to add yet.

Well, Friday is bowling night so nothing gets done tonight and I am doing tax returns for some of my relatives today.

Hope to finish another of the Tichy Hopper cars and get it painted and decaled over the weekend along with an Atlas USRA rebuilt boxcar kit. Still working on some other projects and hope to get some work done on them, including a plastics plant for the club layout that I have been procrastinating on.

Sunday is supposed to be nice here. Temps in the 70's. If I can do some curbside pck up for a couple of rattle cans of paint, may try and do some painting Sunday. Primer coat the grain silos and get the first coat of paint on some GHQ models.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I have the four layers of 1-inch-thick foam on the first board of the layout. This weekend I hope to get the foam placed on the second board. If that goes well then it will be time to start laying track.

Tomorrow have some "administrative" chores assigned. Need to take the pooch to the vet for a check up, plus some other domestic tranquility chores. Those should go quickly.

    This weekend, the grand plan:
    1. Building work that I sloughed off last week due to last weekend's getting lost in the weeds of engine programming.
    2. Air Brushing some things that I have been ignoring and need to do to advance some projects.

Have a great and peaceful weekend all.

Sunday: -- Play it by ear -- report on Monday

    Y'all have a great weekend,

Today I was all ready to rip cut my HCD layout length wise then I decided to wait until warmer weather, after garage is cleaned and table saw is accessible. I'll need the table saw to accurately rip down the filler pieces for the door.

Clean up work bench and train room

Finish wiring in the parallel port for joint at rip cut location.

Cutting foam base for hillside town area and come up with removable mountings.

    Good morning all,

The plan this weekend is to make the final push for the annual layout party project. The new hillside now has plaster cloth and drywall joint compound so next will be some paint and basic ground scenery. Also got the paint for the fascia so want to get that done too. Going this morning for my 1st vaccine so a lot will depend on how I feel afterwards. I'll let you know on Monday.

Everyone stay safe and enjoy the weekend.

The handrail projects are on hold, awaiting parts, so I'll start the flatcars, hoping to get one far enough along to order the couplers and decals, then apply balsa decks to all of them. Also want to move forward on the bodywork on the SW1. Be Safe!

Wow! Lot's of beavers working here. Earlier, I began planning the cutting layout for new components. I am planning parts for twenty cars. One flat car was already in the shop for upgrading. It is ready for running gear. That will coming very soon. I also was able to devise an innovation for the running gear that will use less parts and be easier to make. Another win-win that I am grateful for. Also, the Winter Train Show (Smoky City Rails Club) is today and Saturday in Helena, AL. Going to that with a grandson. My best to all and be safe. (y)

Planning to get the booster installed, and isolate the station and yard. Then program the turntable.
