Good morning from partly cloudy and cold Northeast Ohio, after the snow yesterday it will warm up a little today with much better temperatures by Sunday.

Got a couple of cars completed this week.

Athearn FMC 5347CF Boxcar Kit, painted with a combination of Scalecoat II Reefer Orange and ATSF Red Paint, White, Silver, and Grimy Black also, then lettered with Herald King Decals. Another of the IPD Boxcar of the late 70's era.

IMRC Canadian Grain hopper kit, painted with a Mixture of Scalecoat IIReefer Yellow and Boxcar Red, with a Black Underframe Paints then lettered with Herald King Decals. Government paid for covered hoppers to replace worn out 40' boxcars for grain traffic brought about by the Crows Nest aggreement with rates that did not cover the cost of shipping grain and the railroads buying new cars.

Last week I took my Rapido New Haven FL9's to the club with a passenger train made up of various Rapido New Haven Passenger cars.

    Thanks for looking!

My photo this week is a video that I put together yesterday. This one follows a Southern Pacific TOFC train from the most recently finished area of my layout at the Palisade tunnels to the west end of the paired track at Weso. The era would be in the early 1990's.

It was pretty much scratch built. Grandt Line windows but some were modified. The yellow stuff was actual photos of the eves on the prototype house that were scaled and printed on white paper. Cut to fit and glued in place.

Looks like some bulls are being taken for a ride....
And several years ago I bought this bulk trailer from Shapeways, but never liked how it turned out. Well this weekend I painted it with Testors Chrome and I think it looks alright behind the Athearn Kenworth.

Johnny come lately but I have a special memorial "Fred " car to show. This car is a memorial for a long time family friend, my dad, knew him well. This man was roundhouse foreman in ELP, Little Rock, San Antonio and others and was a long time SP employee. When he retired he took on the McGruff "Take a Bite Out of Crime" program for the city of EL Paso Police. He was a good friend to my wife and family but we all lost him about 10 years ago.

So my tail-end fred car is a memorial to Mr. Fred Gehrer. Frederick you and the SP live in my world, we miss you good buddy.

@SMR , I am very interested in the station in this folder...is it a kit or a scratch build? I am trying to construct something similar. Thanks,
