Hi Mike, This is one of the biggest reasons I use JMRI with my Digitrax PR4. I now have a database via JMRI of all my decoder settings. For me JMRI also makes speed matching a lot easier. And although I've never experienced the dreaded SLOT=MAX error message on my DB150 command station, JMRI makes it a breeze to clear out unused slots on the command station. Every so often I'll hook the PR4 up to my DB150 and let JMRI clear out all of the slots with addresses in them of locomotives not currently on the layout. I was a hold out for the longest time, I thought I know how to program my decoders using my throttle and I know how to dispatch unused addresses, but once I tried JMRI using a PR4 I was sold.
Tell me what you think about the Woodland Scenics fence when you install it. I have the Barbed Wire as well as 3 other types.
It got installed this weekend and I am happy with it. Made a post on my blog about it. https://palisadecanyonrr.blogspot.com/2021/04/woodland-scenics-barbed-wire-fence.html#comment-form
Cheap electronics and assembly processes are not long-lived, although at least early 90's electronics probably do not have early lead-free (or compatible) materials. Surprisingly, some failures are more likely in electronics that are unpowered for extended periods (years). There is a reason that military, space and medical equipment is exempt from lead-free regulations... When electronics have to work, or else [the wrong] people die, lead in solder is your friend...
Some more clearance trees from Michaels. I think they are out now, but I will see if they restock. But doubt it! I really like the Green ones, but figured what the heck on the other ones, good price, to me! If nothing else my nieces will enjoy them when they visit! Oh also got two more spray cans of Black paint too.
In the past two days I received these items in the mail. Some roadbed pieces by Easy Streets and some trucks to bring beverages to both the towns people and my locomotives. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A long time ago, I got a Bachmann set (1xGP40 "Santa Fe", 1xGP40 dummy, 1x caboose)....cheap stuff A few weeks ago, I tried to use it again, but realized 1 of the brush spring was broken I contacted Bachmann, made a claim, returned it ($4) and after I agreed to pay $35, I received this one: So for $39, I got a brand new engine and according to Spookshow, it's a good locomotive Now, I will have to equip it with a decoder.......
Picked up 4 more 3D printed military vehicles from PnP Trains. They are really nice models and as a bonus he even sends these in Atlas or Micro-Trains boxes which I can always use.
The nice postman delivered this today I have absolutely no idea what I am going to do with it. It was a whim purchase - made a bid thinking that will never win and next minute.... I've been staring at it for the last hour trying to work out where I could possibly use it and I'm at a loss - looks like it will end up in the cupboard for layout part 2
I just got this in the mail from Japan; a Kato Saphir Odoriko trainset. The Saphir Odoriko started in March of 2020 and it's a gorgeous train!
When we recently cleaned out my late parent's home, I found a nice stash of lead-containing electronic solder in my Dad's stuff. It's SO much easier to work with and will stand the test of time.
I had some birthday and Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket and as the Borg would say "Resistance is Futile". Here is the latest addition to my steam roster.
Paul and Paula are good people. I bought quite a few things from them, including my new to me Avalanche! I like seeing my local Hobby stores getting some attention on a large forum like this!
So I have an Anycubic Proton Mono, and a washer just waiting on supplies, but I decided to add a PLA printer to my collection too, that will be here tomorrow. The PLA printer is a Ender 3 V2. Now I just need the 3D software and some time to learn it!
Been wanting this Town & Factory kit for years. Just can't seem to pull the trigger yet. Maybe when I work on my new layout version some more in the future. Hope you post pictures of building and painting them? I specifically search for these sets on YouTube to see how people paint them. And the roads and lights, etc... with them.
