Good morning from partly cloudy and mild Northeast Ohio, after yesterdays rain looking forward to some sun today.

    This week's completed projects!

Bowser 1958CF ACF Covered Hopper Kit, painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and lettered with Herald King Decals. The Detroit and Toledo Shoreline had several hundred of these cars. They were used to haul Silica sand out of Rockwood, MI, they usually picked up 35 cars a day of this high iron content sand that was primarily used in glass making in Toledo and up in Canada, also was used in the manufacture of leaded glass and toothpaste.

Athearn 60' FMC Boxcar kit, painted with Scalecoat II B&M Blue, Silver and Grimy Black Paints. The Arkansas Louisiana Missouri served several paper plants and these cars hauled paper from a Internation Paper Co plant located online.

One of my favorites. A square hatched covered hopper. I had just one on my module until it was condemned due to being "below standard". :D I plan to build several more with better specs. (y)

You do know how to create a scene, without making a scene.

One of them newfangled RDCs stands at the depot:

The bus has just left the depot with some disembarked passengers, and the cops watch over the scene (without making a scene ;) ).

And the place really needs some roadwork...:ROFLMAO:

Well....you find interesting stuff on eBay. I found both of these Mantua GP20s. They both came with the large SF logo in the very center of the long hood. Not prototypical at all.
So, on 7399, I painted over the SF, and applied the only SPSF decals I had.
But, on 3072, I painted over the SF, and it cracked and crumbled and peeled off like a bad decal.
So with the sides clean, I ordered more decals, and here we are.
I have some honey-dos today, but hope to get the SPSF decals on this side of the locomotive. KaDee couplers will come later...

I always appreciate your narratives on the cars you paint. Information about their service adds an interesting dimension that adds to the enjoyment of seeing your work. (y)

Been seeing the Hannah Vista enginehouse for a few weeks now. The details are excellent and the black and white photos set the mood perfectly. Absolutely stunning.

I picked 3072, because I found a photo of it on the interwebs.

Here is the first run by on the new under construction layout. I have installed the Water Tower Diorama in a temporary location so I can run photograph trains.

    Here is a video

The spot where the diorama isn’t the best spot. It is the best spot that works. I have to work on getting the placed better.

Put my picture in the wrong week, didn't I? Here is another version. Working on modifying these Bachmann ten-wheelers to be more Frisco-ish.

A few shots around the Sebring Model Railroad Club today: crews prep the fleet for Monday morning departures at the roundhouse (2), while the scrapyard sits idle for the weekend, and neighbors catch up on all the gossip at a social "gathering" in the rear of the local apartments as the laundry dries on the line above the "water level" mainline.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
