When the BN handed off UFIX coal trains from Wyoming to the ATSF in Fort Worth. The Santa Fe brought the trains with the run through BN power down to the Houston Lighting and Power plant in Thompsons, Texas.
This shot was taken by my friend David outside Wallis, Texas. A BN powered UFIX coal train in the hole with the crew doing a run by inspection of a Santa Fe freight.

Former CB&Q 908,built Feb 1961. I knew the GP20 was a former CB&Q motor as GN's were all high hoods. http://www.trainweb.org/jaydeet/gp20.htm http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=583262
I was wondering about the 2044's heritage when I posted the picture. Thanks! Do you know anything about the 33 above? Maybe an SW-1500, not sure.
BN 33 is a SW1500 built in 1968 as Frisco 238. It went to BNSF as 3413 and is now owned by GMTX. See here for more: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locoPicture.aspx?id=100466
GN lettering probably only meant it was soon to be white-lined or stricken from the roster, and to make room for new units. The newest Tier 4 GEs are occupying the 3XXX-series.
