Good Morning everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend and you got a lot done. I'm sorry I have been gone, but without going into details I had to run to NH for family reasons and when I got back mid last week, I next found myself in the ER. I was just released Sunday afternoon, so I have nothing to report.

With that said, my life has taken on yet another drastic change, and the hobby is no longer a priority. In the coming weeks, I'll be pulling out further as I need time to focus on the family and everything that entails. I may not even go to Galesburg this year. It is likely I will be giving this WMP/A thread up in the next few weeks. If someone is interested in picking up the thread, let me know. For now I will be doing my best to get it out every Friday and Monday.

With all of that out of the way, let us know what you got done, be it on the work bench, layout or module. We'll meet up again on Friday the 18th to start the process once again. Until then, have a great week, stay happy, stay healthy, be safe and as always...

    High Greens!

Wow Jim, all that doesn't sound good. Hope you recover from the heath issue quickly and sorry to hear of the family issue as well.

Not much modeling for me lately due to some big projects at work. About all I got done over the weekend was putting a coat of flat finish on a bunch of military vehicles and truck trailers I have been working on for the last several months.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Jim, here is to a speedy recovery for yourself and hope all works out with your family.

This weekend we replanted the window boxes. The pansies were at their end. Also replanted the other pots around the yard that had pansies. Weeded the front gardens. Drove down to Delaware to get gas. Prices in Delaware are 20 to 30 cents cheaper than in Pennsylvania. On Thursday I paid $2.88 to fill up the wife’s car. On Saturday it was $2.98 for my car. My daughter drove down on Sunday and paid $2.95. In Pennsylvania the cheapest we saw was $3.07.

I ran some trains on Friday night. I never did get back downstairs the rest of the weekend. I was basically too sore from the outdoor work.

Hopefully everything works out for the best, Jim.

I spent the entire last recovering from a minor procedure last Monday. I painted and applied decals to about a dozen cars since the doctor’s orders was to “take it easy” for a week. Planning to transition back to benchwork construction going into next weekend.

Jim, hope all is well and you have a speedy recovery and get back to modeling soon.

Been working on the plastic factory and plastic pellet facility to be installed on the club layout. I have been procrastinating for a year on this structure and finally figured out how to install the roofs, which has been done along with bracing in the back as there is no structure as it fits against a wall suggesting the plant extends out. Have to finish painting the roofs and installing duct work and vents before our operating session this Saturday.

Also did some decaling on a couple of cars and some work on another Anderson's quasi covered hopper.

My prayers are with you Jim. You do such a fine job with this thread, always punctual and always of interest to a bunch of us.

A landmark weekend for the N Scale Delaware, Susquehanna & Northern v3.0, which has been sidetracked for a year-and-a-half as I've worked through a family matter. I finally bought a sheet of plywood and began to cut leg components. The layout is designed to be moved, so the benchwork takes on extra complexity. Happily I was able to use my late-father's vintage Skillsaw and saw guide system to safely and accurately cut the initial pieces.

The sacrificial 2x4s under the plywood are legs from DS&N v2.0 fastened end to end in two 100" lengths.

Jim I hope is all well and a speedy recovery.

Nothing to report. Nothing done this weekend. I have some stuff on order now so the current module is now on hold until that arrives.

Sorry to hear of your troubles Jim, and join the others here in wishing speedy resolution of them and your recovered health.

This past weekend I have been working on a few decoder installations / repairs. It had been quite awhile since I had done this kind of thing so there was a bit of relearning. I saw somewhere about using a spray adhesion promoter on hand rails prior to painting them so I bought some of that and am trying it out. So far it seems to work better than anything else I've tried. Got one end done of 4 sets of Kato hand rails and will get to the opposite ends today.

On Saturday the layout got a visit from our next door neighbors with their young son and that was great fun. Found out the father and son are building a European HO layout in their attic.

I've been struggling to get things done as my day job is sucking all my energy and time however I try to "Keep going" with the hobby just to make sure I don't fall into a rut. So this weekend I took on a challenge that has been on the back burners for awhile. I need n scale articulating single arm pantographs for a few models that I'm doing. So this weekend, I finally did it. Here are two of my prototypes for my Metroliner I completed this weekend:
    singleArmPrototypes.jpg

I'm really stoked how they turned out and how they operate. Next on the pantograph list is to do the diamond pantographs also used on the Metroliners. I have articulated diamond pans for my Little Joe/Boxcab projects however they're not suitable for the Metroliner so this will be a new design.

    Cheers -Mike

Not a lot happened here. I picked up a pair of bar clamps needed to aid in assembling a module base. Had an idea for the next base I am about to order. A couple of laser depot kits should be at USPS tomorrow. And scanned a several dozen more slides....

I am truly sorry for your circumstances. I was almost positive when I did not see your usual post that something very problematic had happened. I do not speak for all but I feel everyone missed your input and motivation. I hope that you have a major turnaround. You seem like a hard worker and I do not think you should have to endure these serious problems. But I suppose that life can be like that. I am looking forward to what you can do in the short time that you lead us. David

Wow look at all the quality! Great stuff. As for myself, I was out of town for three nights house sitting with my grandson while his mom was out of town. As I may have mentioned, all the glazing is done and now we can move to wall and roof assembly (I hope ). :D

Glad to see you are back to posting again. Hope everything resolves itself quickly and positively.

Made some progress this weekend. Got the basic shape, at least Rev A, of UP 2295's boiler turned.

Obviously more to come in the next few weeks.

Put the motor, frame and gears back together after cleaning the frame.

Added some handrails and planks to the tender.

Spent some quality time with the serious batch of rabbits, wild, we have going on this year. Of course, where there are rabbits... saw two coyotes last week crossing city streets in midday. First fawns showed up in the neighborhood, too. So, ya, it's spring.

    Stay safe,
