Good morning to everyone and to the Gateway to the weekend. I hope you had a good week and are ready with your model railroad projects. Let's get started. Saturday: As I write this, I'm in sunny California so I'll be resting after a day of travel. I got a lot done on the Athearn display layout last weekend and I hope to lay the track down this weekend. Sunday: I hope to get any wiring done and start the preliminary testing on the Athearn display. We'll see. So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 26th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always... High Greens!
No modeling for me this weekend. Tomorrow morning (approx 3:30am) we are heading up to Bishop, Ca. for a scouting mission. Looking for and at camping sites for our hunting trip at the end of September. As well as reconnoitering possible hunting locations. Heading back home Sunday afternoon or evening. Y'all have a fantastic weekend Wolf
Safe travels Jim! Safe travels SP-Wolf! This weekend we are having all of our grown "kids" to the house w/ their spouses. My son-in-law's birthday is this week and so we are having them for dinner. Mrs. Kitbash is sure to press me into "domestic" service and various honey-do chores tomorrow. Plus, I will be tasked w/ grilling the fish she ordered for dinner. I may get some modeling done here and there tomorrow but it won't be too much. Maybe a little tomorrow and then most of Sunday, the goal is to work on the CV bridge kit, finish building all of the beams, get them polished w/ steel wool and then maybe put the bridge floor together. Time permitting Sunday I may also get to some thissa and thatta smaller chores around the layout. Happy weekend all!!!!
Happy Friday everyone! Traveling home from a trip on Saturday and have to get caught up on a lot of stuff Sunday before heading to the office Monday so looks like no modeling this weekend for me. However, if a few minutes of free time pop up, maybe I can at least run a couple of trains on the layout. Hope you all have a great weekend!
Good morning all. During the week I did a rebuild of that signal that was not working and this weekend I plan to install it and to start building another signal control circuit. Sounds like lots of traveling going on, may everyone be safe in all your travels.
If I can withstand the heat and humidity, I'll continue to make progress on building my train table. My K-Mart box fan bought in 1977 continues to provide some element of comfort. I enjoy woodworking, so spend too much time working on fastidious details that will never be noticed ...
No modeling this weekend, I am in Sunny California on vacation to celebrate my Grandson's 1st Birthday. We were unable to go after he was born last year as my daughter refused to let us come due to the rampaging covid problems in California last year. Rick Jesionowski
Yes. I will echo "all travelers be safe". First birthday. Happy milestone. Earlier today, I completed the diagram for the next structure. It is a bungalow from the early years. Yesterday I went to the craft store and picked out the color of cardstock needed for project. I should be able to start making components soon. Also, yesterday, I worked with some fencing ideas and the upgrade on the power linkage. Saturday is chore day so I will see what happens after that. All have fun and be safe.
We have not figured out any real plans for this weekend. I know I have some outside stuff to do such as cleaning the pond filter, weeding, and hedge trimming. I still have two rooms to finish doing a heavy cleaning. A package with parts from Bachmann arrived today so I could work on my Spectrum Light Mountain that is having problems suddenly on turnouts. I have some IHC passenger cars I need to convert to Kadee couplers. I also can work on fiddling with the layout track plans.
This week, I’ve installed all of the subroadbed all the way to the location of the stone arch bridge, cork roadbed has reached the steel mill and track was extended another 9 feet completing the peninsula loop on the lower level. My goal this weekend is to get the main and passing siding installed at the steel mill. The rest of trackage there will need to wait for structures so I can lay those out accurately…. Maybe I’ll build some mock-ups and just pin the tracks down temporarily. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Friday was a busy day. I mowed the lawn and trimmed. I raked some brush I had cleared Thursday, put down cardboard to discourage regrowth. I racked and fed five, 5 gallon batches of lactobacillus-serum. I'm stocking up in preparation for trying a windrow style bokashi. I harvested some worm castings and fed the worm bins. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bokashi_(horticulture) After lunch we packed the car and headed to the cabin in Bradford County Pa, S&NY territory. Saturday weather permitting, will be mowing, weeding and mulching. Sunday will be servicing the mower, scraping paint on deer statuary. For a modeling project I brought along my little travel tool kit, an old Tupperware sewing kit, and a couple Intermountain boxcar kits. Have a good one!
