    Oh, man-my two fav railroads!

My family moved from Detroit to Seattle back in '68, and luckily Dad had a camera!!

He grew up in Monroe, Wa next to the GN line so that was his favorite line, so naturally he got some pics.
Not the best, kinda' blurry, but still some good stuff.(y)

I used to drag my camera everywhere I went just incase, but these phones nowadays are better at times!

Maybe that hauled some of the ocher used in our scenery paints. I have Liquiex tubes from the 80's. I'm sure there are more than a few members with older vintage!

    "First Light at Norwich"

This is Amtrak train 7, the westbound Empire Builder, at Norwich, ND with 184 leading. Yes, I was the idiot on a stepladder in the back of a truck at dawn...

    Beautiful capture Hemi!!

I'm usually in the back of my truck too, when I go down to Boeing Field to shoot planes over the fence there.

Taken this morning on the NS main at Taylors, SC, Train 265 with Illinois Terminal Heritage Unit 1072 leading. I wish I could say that I planned this shot, but the 1072's appearance was pure serendipity.

Caught 4014 at La Salle, CO this morning.
Running late, as they added Rio Grande 1989
to the consist as well. Left 1:43 late.
One good shot, of freight train passing over
bridge where I stopped for photos/video.

Will post those later. Gonna get a bit more sleep right now!

    Wow! :)

All diesels should be retrofitted with a whistle like 4014's...

It's hard to understand how big this beast is until it's in context with something else, like that bridge, and the trailing diesels. Also that there are two people sticking their heads out the cab window.

    Back seat driver?

Ha ha. :) Probably just a guest. Could be some official from the company, or a lucky party who got/bought a cab ride. In olden times would have been the head end brakeman in that cab.

    I wholeheartedly agree!

Could be pilot crew, in the event a steam crew member is not qualified on that district.

I don't know if cabrides for common folk like us are still a thing, but I treasure the experience of my cabrides.
