Help Guys! Is there any one who knows where I can buy on the internet some N Scale furnature like shairs, tables, beds baths etc ????
do you know you can edit a post. Not sure if there is much in the line of N-Scale furniture out there, but I would like a Shair as well
Can't think of one right now. I have seen someone selling interiors to fit the DPM buildings. There are other small details out there. Barrels, crates, etc. So I'd not be surprised if a furniture source exists. Doesn't seem unreasonable these days. Boxcab E50 [ November 15, 2005, 07:08 PM: Message edited by: BoxcabE50 ]
Gold Medal Models makes some etched brass chairs. There's another etched brass maker whose name I cannot recall right now that makes very ornate out-door cafe type tables, benches and chairs. I think the GMM stuff is more like what you're after .
Boxies, I beleive you may be refering to a U.K. company called "Scale Link". I have a set of their tables and chairs and you are right, they are very ornate (and delicate) and look just like a set of wrought iron outdoor furniture. See item# MINI-02 http://www.scalelink.co.uk/acatalog/Scale_1_152_160__N____Echelle_1_160__N_.html
Thanks for the scale-Link tip... perfect for what I need.... Also guys guys guys... Please credit me with some sense! If I had wanted to make my own or strip out stuff from other cars I think I may not have asked who knew where I could BUY it from!
Try a search at the Walthers website probably under detail parts. Know the stuff is out there because I have been encountering it and buying it as I find it. Small shovel, picks, and axes and weed hoes. Buckets and washtubs, Scoop shovels for the firemen. Park benches by Woodland Scenics and by Model Power, along with mailboxes and fire hydrants. Interior stuff I've found includes work benches and cabinets, slop sink, urinals and the interior set for the DPM building which can be trimmed from the wall and floor sections. Detail Associates, Sunrise Interprises, and Period Miniatures are some of the manufacturers. Machine shop parts range from a forge and anvil, to a steam hammer, and acetylene/oxygen tanks both in carts or as singles. And lest I forget a lathe. Now if you fell like some punishment you can break out the styrene and do your own. I've built bunkbeds for a logging campcar, along with chests of drawers, tables, chairs, and even the small kerosene lamps. Before I found the Detail Associates part I even carved my own urinals to hang on the wall. Hardest part though was carving the little blue cakes to go in them
All I did was Google N scale furniture and the first one was this site. http://www.oakridgehobbies.com/n_scale/n_furniture.html This one Googled for N scale, as well http://www.dollhousesupplies.com/
I used Gold Medal Models etched brass chairs for the front porch chairs in this hillbilly house. http://www.railimages.com/albums/kennethanthony/acp.jpg Gold Medal fret has 4 chairs each in 4 styles, total 16. I need about 48 chairs same style for a pier nightclub. http://www.railimages.com/albums/kennethanthony/afa.jpg Haven't quite decided what to do. I am making restaurant tables with scale 3' square styrene pieces on top of pedestal made of a bead. Trying to get aluminum foil to hang/drape as tablecloth. Not quite satisfied yet. When I am, I will post a picture.
Try the DPM Interiors from Tobias Locomotive Works. They include shelves, chairs, counters etc. I know that WigWag has them.... http://www.wig-wag-trains.com/ Cheers Dirk
Mark thanks for the link. This might be a way to lure our prettier friends into the hobby. < inocent grin >
