Yes, see what an attractive scheme that is?

And why no red, white, and blue on locomotives, anymore? I have a good idea why but don't want to mention a politically sensitive proposal.

Yeah. They sure did a nice restoration on that F7.

With the four track "Broad Way" still in place, the eastbound Broadway Limited is downgrade at Bennington, PA. That's one ratty looking F40PHR. [07/1980]

I wonder if that was paint coming off or if some dirty liquid rained in it. It looks like the latter to me. The tracks sure look good, though.

It almost looks like it was spotted under a pigeon roost bridge doesn't it? o_O Ugh.

Just ahead of the train is Bennington Curve, site of the eastbound Red Arrow's 1947 fatal derailment from overspeed. I was blessed to have seen the mainline with all four tracks as the PRR intended it.

A shot of the "Orange" up front that I took coming down Cajon. I think that I was trying to get it hidden behind the brush but snapped too soon.

The Broadway cut a much better figure at Bennington on another day that same weekend in July 1980. This remains one of my favorite slides.

The PRR's Red Arrow went off the embankment to the right. It's a long way down.

My favorite photo from the "unknown" photographer. My wife, me and our friend Tom on the platform of the Warren Henry as we head down Cajon toward LA. Patrick Henry, the owner of the car, forwarded it and a few other photos to me after the trackside rail fan sent them to him.

The PVD, (Boston to Providence), goes past my window along with the commuter rail 'Canton' line *but* there is a screen, a fence and too many trees in the way so I do what I can.

Those locomotives look like they came "Undecorated". :) No road name, no logo, just a number.
