Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend! I hope you are all doing well and ready to get back to the model bench, layout room or club layout. Let's get started.

Saturday: I got to work, but not in a bad way. I'll be at the Horizon Hobby RC Fest in Monticello all day Friday and Saturday marketing Athearn. I have the display switching layout as done as it is going to be and will have that as well as other display items. I will also have a local young man in attendance with his 1990's Illinois Central 1X8 switching layout. As this show or "open house" I would call it is at the Horizon Hobby RC Field, complete with asphalt runway, airplane hangar, off road race track and various other goodies, the field is right next door to the Monticello Railway Museum. So I get to watch model trains as well as prototype trains. Should be a great weekend!

Sunday: I hope to unwind from the previous two days of hobby fun. Sleeping in will definitely be on the agenda. I also hope to program my new Athearn Genesis GATX GP15-1 and get it set up with the Proto-Throttle I picked up at the St. Louis RPM in July. Forcing myself to build the Athearn display built me a switching layout I can finally run my HO scale models on. I also need to wash and clean the Mustang for next weekends car show. Any other time will be spent with whatever domestic chores come up.

One thing I am reminded about today and especially tomorrow is what happened 20 years ago. It was 20 years ago tomorrow (September 11) that a beautiful, blue sky, 70 degree morning was shattered when cowards took innocent lives with them to destroy and create chaos for their "cause". I realize in this ever so "walk on egg shell", PC, don't offend anyone time we live in, that the events of 9/11 are looked at by media and social networks differently then they were 20 years ago, but I for one will never forget. I hope you you all take the time at some point tomorrow and give a moment of silence and remembrance to all of those people who's lives were taken away as well as the lives that were impacted and continue to be impacted to this day. So as I do for every December 7th, I ask we as a people to never forget. I hope that someday this nation will heal and come together again like it did after both historic yet tragic events.

We'll be back on Monday the 13th to see how we all did, until then, be happy, be healthy, stay safe and as always...

    High Greens!

    &

    NEVER FORGET 9/11

Will prime and paint fascia panels for my benchwork. If there's time, may attend our local Cars & Coffee event with the GTI.

The past couple days I was just a lump after getting my COVID booster. At least I didn't feel as bad as the second injection.
I'm well rested and ready to go!

This weekend I'll keep it simple, yard work, set up and organize model panting area get layout running. Another neighbor is having mower problems so I plan on helping him also.

    Have a Good One!

Good morning from sunny and mild Northeast Ohio!

Friday: May get some modeling done finishing up a Tichy Andersons semi covered hopper kit, maybe paint a boxcar I finished during the week. Need to put away some trains and then select what I am taking to the club tomorrow. Also bowling tonight, hope it goes better than the last time I bowled.

Saturday: Going to the club in the morning after meeting the club members at a restaurant for breakfest. Later in the evening have to finish decaling a boxcar along with starting the decal work on a coal hopper.

Sunday: Going to start on a 89' Trailer Flat, also working on the vans that will be going on that flat.

I will be finishing up the build of the 6” extension on the module. Then I will start getting the module ready for the museum.

I want to start some scratch builds but I need to take inventory of my supplies. I also have a bunch of supplies coming. So hopefully soon.

    Good morning all,

I will be continuing work on building turnouts at my model RR work bench. May also make a run to the LHS for some more code 55 rail. Also continuing little projects on the travel trailer out in the driveway.

May you all have a great weekend whatever you end up doing.

    Any pictures?
I think we saw the rear bumper in one of your 2014 layout build photos. Looks like possibly a modern teardrop.:)

Happy Friday. This weekend the plan as I type this is to plant lots of trees. I’m sure something else may get done, but as of now, I’m in the mood for some more vegetation.

    Have a great weekend!!

Well yes, the trailer has been seen a few times when I've shown bench work construction out on the driveway. It's a 2004 Trailmanor 3023 which collapses from both ends. It's a full featured trailer with almost everything that would be in an upright trailer. 30ft long when set up and 23ft long when collapsed for towing. I have been replacing the original chemical toilet with a flush toilet which has been quite a project mostly hunting for parts. Did some re-sealing around the vents on the roof, and am installing some pull out trays in the kitchen cabinets.

Collapsed for towing, tows quite easily with my Silverado but know of others that tow similar trailers with smaller vehicles.

And set up for use. It takes about 45 minutes to setup including the hookups and leveling.

It look as though my little dream empire modular layout needs a special module. So I am thinking about mocking up something for test measuring purposes. IF, I do day if, that attempt succeeds, I may contact someone about the possibility of making what I need. We shall see. Otherwise, maybe a football game on TV, and that is a maybe. And perhaps picking up where I left off on a car kit assembly, prior to my little disaster a couple weekends back.

First. A big thank you to Mr. Wiggin for the timely and thoughtful remarks. Next. Looks we have a busy bunch here. Both indoors and outdoors. :D I too struggle with blue skies, sunshine and cooler temps. This morning's weather was very nice indeed. Not rotten like before.. The bungalow has been sidelined until I research and develop a way to make a few more details. The current project(s) are a group of covered hoppers. The old one had to be pulled due to substandard construction. :( So far, we have made the sides and will need to attach side ribs next. The roof sub panels are done too. I am trying to take a lot of time on this and I believe this will help a great deal with the quality. I hope all have fun, get a lot done and forgive this pun!

Our new house is almost ready. The new Train Room under the roof can then geen into operation. Your nerves may have run out, but the joy of creating something new is huge. We look forward guys.

Since the weather will be nice there will be outside work. Need to weed the gardens and trim the forsythia bushes in the backyard.

Paint the second coat for the mortar lines on the Walthers Union Station kit and begin assembling it.

Normally, I’ve been able to chip away at various projects through the week, but that may stop for a while. I started a new project at work that is farther from the house and likely won’t get home until 7 pm most evenings for several weeks.

Saturday morning, I plan to install the north switch for the steel mill siding as well as some track on the viaduct. I also need to plan for routing through the corner of the wall just past the viaduct and onto yard limits for the classification yard. I’m not terribly far away from connecting to the rest of the main track in the yard, hopefully I can run trains between the staging yard and the classification yard by Thanksgiving.

No plans yet Sunday, we talked about going somewhere but haven’t made a solid plan yet.
