Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend and got accomplished all that you set out to do last Friday. Let's get started.

Saturday: A great day! Many non-railroad folks, old and young, tried their hand at the switching layout I had built. For me, the highlights of the day was hearing two young men who are active RC car guys, both run the layout and say many times out loud, "This is fun!" At the end of the day, we pulled a winner from the raffle tickets and a young man and his father came to the layout and took delivery of their brand new Genesis locomotive. That young man was excited! I hope the exposure over the weekend planted some seeds for some future model railroaders.

Sunday: After two days of being on my feet from 8:00am to 10:00pm, I was exhausted and accomplished very little. I did clean and re-organize my railroad toolbox in anticipation for a show in two weeks but other then that small victory, I spent the day with the wife on the sofa.

So how about you? What did you accomplish? let us know. We'll assemble again on Friday the 17th to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

Did not get done the things around the outside of the house as planned. Replaced the sprayer on the kitchen sink. The old was leaking where you press to turn it on. Every time you used the sink there was a puddle from it.

I finished the mortar lines on the Union Station kit. I installed the windows and “glass” on the center part of the structure and assembled three walls.

Primed and began to paint the fascia for my train table. Glue will be applied to the unpainted/unprimed area you see. With humidity again on the rise, paint dry time will be extended. When I sold my aging pickup truck and bought a VW Golf GTI, I gained some nice garage space behind the bumper to set things out.

The weekend went sort of like I thought.
    1. I did manage to make up some puff ball trees. However, I didn't put any in. Got off to doing other things once I got in the train room.
    2. Built an extension to allow track access from the layout to the alcove over the stairwell. I will use the CV Bridge I was building several weeks ago to "bridge over" to the alcove. I have "staged" up to study how this thing is going to go in.
    3. I dressed up the fuel oil pumping station at Ad Hoc Mills. I built this thing almost 20 years ago and have ignored it since I had it "propped up". I fastened some of the parts together on it and weathered it some more w/ watered acrylics, ink-wash, and weathering chalks.

    Have a great week all!

Not much in the way of hobby stuff.
Booster and bees pushed back the things I wanted to accomplish non hobby wise. You can read about that on my This Old Dump thread.

I finally finished regarding around the house.

    Fixed my neighbors lawn tractor.
He had removed the ignition switch from his cub cadet and asked me if I knew how to test it. Due to booster and bees I didn't get to it for a couple days.
It turned out to be a blown fuse and shorted headlight lead. He gave me a 12pk of Warsteiner Pilsner as a thank you. (y)

Hobby wise I spent some time on my workbench reconfiguration.

At a local small hardware store I surprisingly found a reducing coupling needed to extend a flex arm on a workbench lamp.

I started laying out a combination jewelers bench pin holder/resistance soldering ground plate/ mag base and small bench tool attachment point.

    Have a great week!

    Hey All,

Hope you had a good one. I made some progress with these ACF boxcars, built with modified Accurail 36-ft models. Mods include adding truss rods, some trim parts, Tahoe archbar trucks, and replacing grab irons. C&EI Decals are from Precision Design...a custom run with art sponsored by Chris Gobert. ST.L.&S.F. were sponsored by yours truly. Something for the 190x Frisco System modeler.

I did add cut levers and stirrups under the ladder grabs after realizing they were absent in this photo.

Have a great week. Hope all are doing well,

    -Bob T.

Worked on preparing some additional pieces of my box car project. Did some computations for a module I need, and hoping I can have custom cut. Decided on a new indoor scanner antenna and will probably order it later today, or tomorrow. Watched a little football and enjoyed a bit of rain we received, which reduced the fire smoke levels a lot. Fall colors are starting to show around the valley, so it is now definitely indoor hobby season!

    Well,

Friday night bowling was not as good as I would have wanted but I almost made average.

Saturday, went to the club and had a good time running through freights and talking with the fellow club members. Managed to get some decals applied on a coal hopper and boxcar.

Sunday, after breaking the kitchen sink faucet ended up going to Lowe’s for a new faucet assembly. Not hard to do but access for getting everything together is a PITA. After it was all together I found that my supply lines were too short so another trip to Lowe’s for new supply lines and it now works and my back hurts from laying on the edge of the cabinet. I did manage to finish decaling the coal hopper and boxcar along with starting on a tofc trailer.

I was able to get the six inch extension built and attached to the module. From here it is lay track and scenery. Shouldn’t take long to complete.

Weekend? We had a weekend? When?! I don't remember no weekend.
Did a lot of dreaming and sketching of bridges and vinettes on the layout. Does that count?
Took a long walk and passed under 'The Stone Arch RR Bridge' which will be featured on the GandG. Not exactly sure how it will manifest itself. More later. Childcare duties call. ☻

Had a nice weather weekend here, with clear air and comfortable temperatures.

I ventured out the my nearest hobby shop on Saturday morning and purchased all the Micro-Engineering track that I will need for the next expansion of my home layout plus enough code 55 rail to build all the turnouts that will be needed. Spent the rest of the weekend in short sessions between other household chores and projects building turnouts while running trains on the layout and listening to the Giants / Cubs games on the radio.

Turnouts in various stages of completion. Next need to order wooden tie sets from Fast Tracks.

Rick I would consider only 2 trips to the hardware store on a plumbing project to be a success, good job. That cabinet edge really is a pain and what I do is that I have some of those interlocking foam pads that I place over it cutting to size if necessary and that helps.

The weekend seemed to fly by. Seemed like every time I tried to head down to the layout or workbench, some task would pop up and keep me away, this nothing hobby related was accomplished. Did at least get some new security cameras set up and placed which made the wife happy.

Hope you all have a great week!

Yes indeed. All of my neighbors are great.
He is also a retired master pastry chef, won gold at the culinary Olympics, and went on to be a coach for the US Culinary Olympic team.

He hinted at rewarding me with something sweet but I gracefully declined due to my blood sugar, that's when he handed me the Warstiener!

I didn’t accomplish as much as I wanted to. Friday night I had a zoom meeting with some modeling friends just working from our workbenches and chatting. I upgraded couplers on a couple hopper that had been in storage for a few years.

Saturday morning, I installed the switch for the north end of the steel mill siding and extended the main track onto the viaduct.

Sunday morning, I connected the new switch to the siding and extended the main track across the viaduct another 3 feet. I started to reclassify my coal tracks in the staging yard when one of the cats found her way into the layout room. Curiosity got the best of her and she got stuck trying to walk on some freight cars at the other end of staging, causing a 20-car pile up across 5 tracks.

I have got to get the last few wall panels in so those #%*^ things stay out!

First. You absolutely, positively, without fail or falter keep the wife happy. Good job! (y) Again, busy bunch here. This past weekend I worked on developing a side rib installation method. Earlier today I affixed covered hopper sides to the plastic temporary support used for making the ribs. Then I left for a birthday lunch with my son (his birthday) and my granddaughter. Put me getting on here later than normal. Tomorrow is car service. Then, hopefully back to the model railroad. All have a great week. :D

    Good afternoon, my friends!!

I managed to cast a bunch of fuel tanks and 48" dynamic break hatches for my upcoming F7 projects. About 50% successful. Man, casting is a pain!! LOL.

Hope Y'all have a great week,

    Simple as that.
