    Looks like some kind of armored personnel carrier but I have no clue if it's based on a real model or is space fantasy. The Brits have one called a Boxer that looks kind of like this. Also looks like a Big Trak (a toy I wanted when I was a kid) but your model has an extra axle. :D

    I am leaning more toward the 'fantasy' side, and I'm skeptical that it's even N scale. Compared to the other trucks in the background, it looks pretty small. Judging by the grid on the cutting board, the model is about 1.25 inches long, or about 16 feet in N scale, which is smaller than the 22 foot length of a Stryker and other similar 8x8 APCs.

    I think your right. Didn't even think about the size compared to the fuel trucks. Oh well still cool! I just put in on my TV stand :)

    It's protection from anti-personnel mines. Used to escort convoys. They are more maneuverable than tracked APCs.
